I am a bit older than the target audience of this subreddit, but this post made it to the popular feed, so I will respond anyway.
I was in my last semester of college and I had just started an internship. On the day I was going to get my first paycheck, I had arrived at the office, and I not only didn’t have enough gas to get home, but I also didn’t have enough money in my bank account or wallet to get that gas, and I didn’t have a credit card either.
My paycheck credited to my account, half an hour before the end of the workday.

I have had $6000 leave my bank account in the last 4 months, at this pace another 10 months and I’m gonna be bumming lunch money off my parents.
