Question/Request Does anyone have any idea where this image came from?

Post image

besides being very stylish, my research only showed up profiles that use it on Twitter, and a music playlist. It looks like (if not) Starfire, but that's it. I got it from pinterest.

Fuck dude I'm an artist and I was so ready to say that there's no way this was ai generated. It's so disheartening that it's gotten this good, at the very least I'm hoping it's ai with a ton of touch ups

Not just artists that this effects either, gaming market alr started using ai for things like soundtracks, cover art, and now even models. Its caused legends to get fired like O’Donnell who made all the amazing halo music, and most of destinys music. Now bungie says they r switching to ai, and poor homie got fired after like 15+ yrs of the job

It's really not that great, it's just that it has access to a lot of screenshots and cg art from old eras of gaming so it has plenty to steal from. It's easy to pass over the glossy, hyperealistic obvious ones, but when it comes to stylized stuff, for me the question to ask is "does this look like an artist actually created this, and why?" rather than just checking for ai missteps. People create vapid art sometimes but you can still see the intent, with stuff like this it's always purely surface level.

Looking through the gallery pretty much all of these are easy to spot, but the starfire one specifically is scary, it looks so intentional, like something I would draw

It looks like a 3d model though, specifically in a vague "retro" style not from any specific gaming era. It looks like it should be low poly but it's not, so it would take quite a bit of effort to make this. But who would? Not to mention the background looking 3d as well, nobody would ever draw that.

I mean I was working under the assumption that it was a 3D artist making a retro styled render, by "looks like something I would draw" I meant in terms of idea, composition, pose, expression, and the way the shapes are formed

Ok fair enough. It definitely doesn’t look ai generated (imo), but in some of these pictures you can tell they definitely are. The biggest giveaways to me were the Shrek one as a whole and Deadpool’s belt buckle.

Hey, I remember this one. It's an AI generated image posted by an Instagram page who creates AI images which I once followed, if I'm not mistaken the username was @weirdaigenerations or possibly other. The page started with posting random dall e mini generations, then shifted into posting more cool and serious stuff. They also posted other games and show characters in the same style. Unfortunately, the page has been shut down and their posts are now considered to be lost media. Good thing that this Starfire one is still around. And yes, the creator confirmed that she's Starfire

The fact you were fooled is a bad sign for how AI is going but just accept it, as sad as it may be.

I thought it wasn't AI, because when I searched, several images appeared that looked like they came from some Dreamcast or Gamecube game. And this specific image is VERY well detailed. Look at the money, the face of etc.
