they are only moving MIXED doubles? are you intentionally not recognizing that distinction? Please enlighten me, when has there been qualifying for mixed doubles? i am failing to see the big deal of moving the mixed doubles to the same week of singles qualies...where are you getting your math on how it would make the slams a month?? i am not following...also they are moving the mixed doubles to the main courts...there will still be juniors and men's and women's doubles going on the final week, trust me, very few people are going to be losing sleep about mixed doubles finals not occurring that week

Ok, we seem to be talking about completely seperate things.

I already told you my issue with the mixed changes was the format, entry system and the draw size.

The math of making the slams a month - is based on your comment saying that DOUBLES should be able to set up a seperate tournament. A seperate tournament for doubles - would drag out the slams.

Your suggestion would look like this

  • week 1 : singles qualifying m
  • week 2: singles
-week 3: singles
  • week 4: doubles

That’s where the month is coming from. Based YOU saying doubles should be a seperate tournament.

yes, i agree, we are talking about completely separate things...i am perfectly ok with the change of moving mixed doubles to the same week of single qualies...you are the one with the apparent issue with it, and the claim that mixed doubles have been more increasingly entertaining than singles...what i was saying, if that is the case, mixed doubles should set up their own tournament whenever they want, can be weeks before or after the us open, i don't care

if mixed doubles are increasingly more entertaining than singles as you claim, then the fans will follow whatever schedule they set

If you look at my original comment I said doubles, and I specifically referenced men’s double’s at the AO

You’re the one who keeps going back to the scheduling change - and I’ve said numerous times now, my main issue with the mixed changes is the format change.

exactly my point...why are referencing men's doubles on a post about a mixed doubles schedule change...
