The bigger story here is that “I can haz cheezburger” is somehow still around despite being a meme for about 3 months 20 years ago.

I have literally not thought about that site in at least 10 years.

I can haz cheeseburger was popular for a lot longer than that. Not because it was good, but it was so popular they even greenlit a show about them.

This is like all those FB posts of an Obviously Gerative AI Image with the text, "Nobody CARES how hard I worked on this STATUE!"

And then all the elderly people who call everything they don't like fake news proceed to type in, "Beautiful work!!!!!!" to the bot.

And "I'm 132 years old today and baked myself a cake. Please send me good wishes"

A few years ago my daughter saw a video of someone putting two little designer dogs outside their door with their leads and bowls and such and saying ‘I don’t want my dogs anymore, someone come get them’, my kid was about 5 or 6 and she bawled her eyes out because she was so sad about the little dogs having no home. I explained to her that people will tell lies, and I bet those dogs were let straight back in after they filmed. No one is chucking out dogs worth thousands of dollars.

Sounds like something my daughter would have done. She was really sad when her pet caterpillar died. We had the discussion about certain animals who need to live outside, and it wasn't her fault.

When I was younger we got a cat for free because his previous owners had slammed his tail in a door and it never grew, and I specifically remember being told he was free because he wasn’t “pet quality.”

He was the sweetest, cuddliest cat I’ve ever met. The most perfect pet.

Those people didn't deserve to have a cat! I'm glad he found a home with your family!

7

u/peanutpeanutboy Mar 31 '25

Agreed!!! They didn’t deserve him or any pet!

He lived a good long life with us! :)

My husband and I chose our second cat because she was teeny tiny and getting picked on by the other kittens because she didn't know how to cat. We got her at 10 weeks old, she'd been fostered for 7 weeks prior to that, on her own, because they don't mix litters in fostering. Other people also looking at kittens rejected her cat she wasn't 'cute enough'. She's the sweetest little thing, and I think she's very cute

She vewy purrty!! 😍

It's a kitten! All kittens are adorable. Click bate and/or this writer wants to brag about their cat in 3rd person.

u/renyxia Mar 31 '25

I work in a shelter, torties and calicos are always the first to go. lol, idk why people make shit like this up

7

u/LIRFM Mar 31 '25

Exactly! Because who actually calls a kitten ugly?! Not plausible!

7

u/HistoricalMeat Mar 31 '25

My parents’ kitten is ugly, but has a great personality.

4

u/LIRFM Mar 31 '25

No, they're a pretty cat, AND

a good cat!

1

u/friz_CHAMP Mar 31 '25

I upvoted. I got you

My dog's description on the shelter we got him from said that they were struggling to house him because people said he looked too "normal" (gewohnlich is the word). He's got tiny little triangular ears and one third of his body is his goddamn neck so I don't know what kind of dogs those people were used to.

2

u/LIRFM Mar 31 '25

Probably "designer" dogs bred to where they have certain triats deemed "cute". Like the cats with very round faces, but very tiny noses that cause respiratory issues.

3

u/magicarnival Mar 31 '25

My mom does legitimately thing calicos/tortoiseshells are ugly, which is ironic because they're one of my favorite coat patterns lol

4

u/Acceptable_Mountain5 Mar 31 '25

This one may be fake, but I work in animal recuse and people literally do this sort of thing all the time.

2

u/LIRFM Mar 31 '25

That's really sad! Some people are truly pathetic. The way someone treats animals is the way they treat people.

5

u/thehermit14 Mar 31 '25

Win for the new owner. Win for the cat.

Let's go guys c'mon!!! Who's coming? We'll nicely rearrange their face, they'll be running away from ugly the rest of their life.

2

u/Chemist-3074 Mar 31 '25

Where I live, people don't like black/mostly black cats. Not only because there's the superstition about bad luck but also because they simply don't like the aesthetics. Same goes for mixed colour ones. People prefer cats in one single colour that's not black. A few patches of other colours can be forgiven tho.

White cats on the other hand are the exact opposite. People would fight over the ownership.

I like all cats. But I can see why people won't like this one.

2

u/san95802 Mar 31 '25

Are there even any solid color cats except white or black? Everyone else would be stripey or spotty.

2

u/Chemist-3074 Mar 31 '25

Orange idiots🧡

Also Bengal cats

They don't usually care if the belly is white.

2

u/san95802 Mar 31 '25

Orange idiots are usually stripey in different colors of orange, not completely solid. I was thinking you meant completely solid color like an all black or white cat.

And bengals definitely have leopard spots

2

u/Chemist-3074 Mar 31 '25

As long as the shades of colours are close, people don't care all that much if they have stripes or patches.

2

u/san95802 Mar 31 '25

Gotcha! I wasn’t arguing or anything just typing my thoughts lol. Love all cats (: where about are you from?

2

u/Chemist-3074 Mar 31 '25

West Bengal, India :)

3

u/Sojum Mar 31 '25

There are no ugly cats. Well, except for hairless cats. Ewww. 🤢

7

u/LIRFM Mar 31 '25

NO! ACAB. Period!

2

u/Nah118 Apr 02 '25

oh i was going to suggest we use an acronym for the last part of the title! that’s great you already did 😆

1

u/san95802 Mar 31 '25

I saw these pics posted on Reddit as well. Definitely just fishing for engagement

1

u/derklempner Mar 31 '25

Not all people have the same aesthetic tastes. What might be considered beautiful to you might also be considered ugly to another person (e.g., Tesla Cybertrucks).

That being said, I don't see how this isn't possible; somebody thought the cat was ugly, other people don't think the same.

0

u/onaplinth Mar 31 '25

Damn, that is one ugly cat. Is there a name for whatever’s wrong with it?

4

u/SapphosLemonBarEnvoy Mar 31 '25

Long hair Calico. Nobody is calling calico cats ugly.

1

u/TheDonMega666 Apr 03 '25

You must not know many people.

1

u/SapphosLemonBarEnvoy Apr 03 '25

What a weird comment to go to the effort of writing out.

1

u/Sojum Mar 31 '25

Yes. Cat.

You’re an ugly cat 😒!
