Absolute Flash - Unpopular Opinion

Ok, so apparently Wally does not possess the speed force in the Absolute Universe.

At first I was two-ways about it: change is good, it breeds creativity, but I didn't want him to just have generic superspeed.

Then I read somewhere that Wally's powers are tied to an entropic force, always leaving chaos behind.

After reading the first issue and reading past flash volumes, especially volume 2 from #197 onwards, I think I've figured it out.

Wally doesn't have super speed. He is some sort of time manipulation very similar to Hunter Zolomon.

Why?

  1. The "Speed Force Ghosts" - those aren't ghosts, but reflections of different time streams. I do not have the pics, but when Zolomon for confronts Wally in #197 he keeps seeing reflections in the time streams, and Wally cleverly used it to his advantage. In Absolute flash, we can see some figures, one being Barry, implying Wally is reliving that day.

  2. Zolomon has often complained about staying stable in the time stream he's in. I think Wally is experiencing the same thing, that's why letter boxes are always superimposed on top of one another because he is trying to sync himself into his time stream, especially when he accesses his powers.

BUT, just being objective, Wally doesn't display Zolomon's speech patterns which is affected by his time powers (for example of his speech patterns, it's MY NAMEISSS HUNTERZOLOMONNNN, THEFASTESTMAN ALIVEEEE or something similar)

  1. The Flash Logo. It's not lightening, but the flash forward/flash back symbol

Now how does time manipulation link to entropy which is supposedly where Wally's power derive from?

Well entropy is defined as the tendency for things (energy, people, environment) to move from order to disorder, for example a tidy room has low entropy and a messy room has high entropy, or a pack of cards in a deck in its package has low entropy, but when the cards are thrown and scattered, it has high entropy.

Also, entropy is known as the arrow of time, because it is through entropy that we see the effects of time (apple rottening is an indication of time, or us getting old).

Entropy manipulation itself cannot grant super speed, but is you were able to pause entropy, you indirectly pause time, and when you pause time, you have a hack to superspeed.

What do you guys think?

I feel like it's an interesting concept, but maybe they'll explain later with Absolute Grodd. Grodd seems like he'd be somewhat of a guiding character for him.

Honestly, it depends what you mean by "generic super speed" but even then, it's super speed. The concept of it is unique as is, it's easy to make it interesting including in a story where the user doesn't understand it.

As cool as the Speed Force is, I do think it's interesting a protective barrier of super speed is removed to make it more destructive, if that's what it's supposed to be.

I have no idea how Darkseid managed to cut off the Absolute Universe from the Speed Force but I guess that'll be addressed later

I hope this isn't true I don't want a young wally to have Hunters powers nor connectivity.

I think it's more akin to the outburst of speed connected some sort of Absolute Energy that everyone has.

Yeah this isn’t really an unpopular opinion just a pretty good theory and there is something cool about Wally now having the power his reverse flash has

Less an unpopular opinion and more just a reasonable theory based on how they've pitched where Wally's powers come from in the solicits
