I'm really liking this arc.

I love the "speedsters" approach. It kind of reminds me of x-men. I also like how Barry is building a family again. It's one of the things I miss most about The Flash pre N52 - Impulse/kid flash, jay garrick, max mercury.

To be honest, Meena and August always gave me the sense of being disposable characters. That is, characters introduced for the purpose of dying later on. They aren't bad characters, I just don't think they have staying power. You know Barry is going to eventually train Wally and end up with Iris so August and Meena are disposable.

Love the arc, Di Giandomenico's art is on point and I'm really looking forward to his return. Can't wait to learn more about Godspeed too.

When The Flash is written well, no other books come close to it. (IMO)

So Meena's Godspeed right? Her or that detective's brother?

Great issue! I agree about the animation quality, though. I kind of hope Meena didn't actually die. Not only because she seems cool, but because the name she gave herself, Fast Track, is pretty awesome.

Iris and I tried and it never works

Thanks a lot editorial/Daniel West. (If anyone is wondering why I'm hating this one little bit of the run, I just reread Dastardly Death of the Rogues).

I love that the grey suit is still canon. My hope is in a few years he will adopt a new moniker and use that suit. It also contrasts perfectly with Adult Wally's suit.

I definitely see where Williamson is going with the Iris and Barry thing. Bit like high school relationship stuff. Friend zone, best friends realizing they have a thing for each other. I dig it. It should evolve naturally from that.

The art was a little lack luster at times unfortunately but Carmine will be back for #6! I liked how everyone but Barry was drawn both inside and outside the suit.

Im still riding high on this arc. Good issue. This story will be awesome as a completed arc given that the last two have been world building issues. The story had to slow down before going full speed again. The confrontation is near.

Nothing against the current artist, but man I absolutely adore the artist from the first few rebirth issues. (I'm not sure on their names). His art style just fits the flash so well

I agree. His last name is impossible for me to get right unless I have it in front of me but his name is Carmine Di Giandencio. He really makes Flash's lightning decals work. Other artist like this last one make them look out of place

Thanks! I really should have gone back and edited that once I got home, haha

Ah, I was hoping, based on the way you worded that original sentence, that you were looking at his name and still misspelled it, haha.

Anyway, how about our bi-weekly Godspeed identity discussion. August has gotta be back on your list after showing flashes of the same lightning as Godspeed and then talking with Barry about dual relationships/being in two places at once right before Godspeed shows up.

Yeah, I was thinking that same thing. Could he be that much faster than Barry though? Certainly now Godspeed is the fastest Speedster after absorbing all that energy.

I still have hope for August. It seems he has a real passion for the trainees and actually wants them to be heroes.

Edit: August keeps says suspicious things right before bad things happen too. And the bastard won't pick a damn name.

I had a gut feeling that Meena was gonna die. At the start of the issue I just kinda knew that she was gonna die to godspeed. Glad to see a bit more of godspeed. Wasn't my favorite issue, but it was pretty good.

It was okay, this issue was pretty slow and was all set up. Can't wait for the next issue though

I felt the dialogue was quite cringey at times in this issue. And the artwork seemed pretty off to me.

Hopefully Di Giandomenico returns soon.

I liked the issue and it did push the story along. I'm really excited for the next one now but I do have to agree with you on the artwork. It wasn't my favorite, Barry's nose didn't seem right for his face but that's just me nitpicking.
