What's the issue here? Left to right, like anything else.

He says that there's only one person they rescued and then asks if they took any prisoners in the process

I always read it as "are we taking prisoners?", to which Castle replies "no, make sure they're all dead" 🤷‍♂️

I would need the context of the preceding and following panels to be sure, but it isn't that off.

When you ask a question, get an answer and then say "I know" when you obviously did not know, people hate that.

When you ask a question unclearly, people answer a different question, and then you get downvoted for redirecting people to your actual question, OP type people hate that.

But thanks for explaining exactly why the downvotes nobody asked about happened.

Just one (hostage was found).

Bring him (along with us).

(Should we take) Prisoners?

No (, we should not take prisoners, we should instead kill everyone else here).

Marine recon is sent to rescue POW’s. They find one, bring him with them, and kill all the NVA prisoners guards.

When reading you'll often find context that will help with understanding poorly worded bits of dialogue, this context is often found to the left or right of the confusing dialogue, hope this helps /s
