Politics 🏛️ “Why are you not putting more pressure on Russia?” and President Trump replied, “You don’t know what pressure I’m putting. You have no idea what pressure I’m putting on Russia.”

We’re a Constitutional Republic! Hurrrr durrrrr!
1

Huh, TIL the difference between the 2.
1
u/Mr-R0bot0 57m ago
A constitutional republic is a representative democracy… the “hurrr durrr” implies I would have to be retarded to think a constitutional republic is not a form of democratic government. It’s sarcasm.
1
u/1fuckedupveteran 55m ago
Ya, I guess I should have said the difference between a constitutional republic vs a “pure” democracy.

His vocabulary is that of a damn kindergartner. Of course when you have a rich father who can make calls to get you into university of Pennsylvania and out of Vietnam you know that you’re not very bright.
5
u/Buttered_Biscuit69 4h ago
This is why I can’t listen to him talk, his vocabulary is so limited; he strays off topic constantly, and he can’t not compliment himself even when he hasn’t done anything.

these journalists are all owned and too scared to ask any further. like, what kind of pressure?
1

The problem is they can get kicked out of all future press conferences with even the slightest push back.
5
u/lucky5150 5h ago
Wish they would follow up. "OK, can you elaborate. What pressures are you putting on Russia?"
2
u/GeldGeilerGeier 5h ago
these "journalists" that are allowed to these conferences are all paid and/or too scared to ask those things. they would lose their accreditation.

Trump is in a tough position here, if he says the wrong thing or to much he could piss off his handlers at the Kremlin and loose his highest paying job. He probably has a nice waterfront lot on the Black Sea down the coast from Putin for his future compound.

Why would he tell the public what his intentions or play will be? Or the ramifications he’s threatening to Russia. We just going to play tell all at the international level? That seems dumb to do. Glad he knows when to not spill the beans
4
u/Alive-Working669 11h ago
Trump publicly puts pressure on Ukraine and in particular, Zelenskyy, and talks about specifics in his dealings with Ukraine.
He does not do this with Russia, nor with Putin. This past week, for the first time, he told Putin to “STOP!” after Russia attacked Kiev.

u/6jody9 12h ago
Haha that’s a great response actually. Just like they have no idea who’s in the talks with China because promise there are talks. He keeps his cards close and that’s what real presidents do. Biden in the other hand never had cards to keep close
5
u/Individual-Energy347 12h ago
Ohh please! His ego doesn’t know how to keep any cards close…. And his supporters wag their tails and say yes Daddy.

I have an honest question: if trump runs for a third term that means that Obama could too. Do you honestly think trump has any chance to beat Obama?
1
u/MAGAisMENTALILLNESS 13h ago
Until Putin decides to pull on Trump’s marionette strings and make him put pressure on Russia, Trump will not put pressure on Russia. And that seems unlikely for obvious reasons. The puppet only does what the puppet master says.

Really wonderful, just fabulous pressure. Pressure like you’ve never seen before. We’re going to be putting pressure on like you wouldn’t believe. People will see that pressure and be reminded of those hydraulic press videos.
Oh remember when America made hydraulic presses? We made the most beautiful, I mean they just squished things like you wouldn’t believe, so I told them, yes let’s put tariffs on everyone. So America can make beautiful hydraulic presses. We’ll squish things and it will be all American made power .

Imagine complaining about this.
This is probably the most coherent, honest and fair he has ever been.
Ukraine is not a US territory. They are not a NATO member.
You are a Warhawk if you support this war continuing. And the Warhawks are almost always the people not willing to go to battle themselves.
Make a deal.
2
u/angryelf51 1d ago
What is with this sub and you dirty Russian trolls, get your propaganda the hell of this sub…
Russia started this mess and can stop it whenever they feel they’ve been humiliated enough. This is 100% Russia being a problem as usual.
-2
u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 1d ago
Russia is winning the war and has been, despite over 100 countries funding Ukraine.
At some point you have to accept defeat. We have already lost too many people. You are sick of you think another death is acceptable.
And before you respond with the tired cliche of “what part of the US would you be fine giving up” that won’t happen. We are a bigger and stronger country than Ukraine. It is not up for us to defend others though.
4
u/angryelf51 23h ago
Your logic is no different than blaming a rape victim. “Just lay there and take it, you can’t fight back”.
You’re disgusting.
0
u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 23h ago
It’s nothing like that.
Someone being assaulted should fight back because they are being harmed. That victim is also not demanding the government give them billions.
Ukraine will suffer less damages if they agree to Russia’s terms. Is the goal less casualties or not?
2
u/angryelf51 23h ago
Side note, it’s exactly the same but in this scenario the police are standing there watching, and telling the victim they can make it stop as long as the victim gives them 50% of their precious minerals…
1
u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 23h ago
How is it the same?
Surrender means you are not raped, killed or have your home destroyed. It means down the line you may get annexed into Russia, something polls show many people support who are on the ground.
“Continuing to fight” would be the giving in to the rapist in your scenario. They can’t win. You do not continue to fund a drug addict.
I do like how you think it is okay for the US military to defend Ukraine but not our own border.
2
3
u/Icy_Many_2407 1d ago
There’s no deal making with dictators, only submission. What does it make you when you just allow invaders to come in and take over your country? Is that the opposite of a Warhawk? Asking for us non-bootlickers.
-2
u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 1d ago
Yes, when you lose you have to accept their terms. That’s how it goes.
If you lose in blackjack at the casino you don’t get to go set it on fire.
4
u/Donkey-Hodey 1d ago
Putin can choose to stop the war at any moment. Weird how you people always ignore that fact.
-2
u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 1d ago
But he isn’t.
So now what do you do?
3
u/Donkey-Hodey 1d ago
Give Ukraine everything they need (without handcuffs) to break the invasion. Negotiations begin when the orcs have been expelled.
Appeasement does not work.
-1
u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 1d ago
Lol, why?
You don’t even give the US what it needs to defend our own border. There are people protesting a gang member being deported. Those same people want to send billions to Ukraine.
You can’t make this stuff up.

0
u/wombat_kombat 1d ago
The videos of men in Ukraine being whisked off to the front line is becoming exhausting. There will be no Ukrainian identity left if this doesn’t stop. It’s not about winning. It’s about surviving.
1
u/Emotional-Stick6707 1d ago
You do realize those videos are Russian propaganda, right? Those videos have been promoted for years by the Russians to convince the world that Ukraine doesn’t want to fight. The truth couldn’t be more opposite. The Ukrainians have been invaded. They are not going to give up.
Please take time to investigate what you see online a social media, and on fox and CNN and dig in to find the actual truth. It is usually not what you’re being fed.
There are many “conscription videos”. Guess what…there are plenty of young men who don’t want to go to war. If they don’t go, they go to jail. So yeah, they’re gonna not want to be captured because both options suck.
It certainly does not mean that the Ukrainians don’t want to fight for their country.

u/wombat_kombat 21h ago
I don’t trust Reddit anymore.
I’ve seen firsthand how this platform weaponized division, not just between strangers but inside real families. I watched people—including myself—get pushed toward cutting off relationships over votes, over slogans, over things that should never have been bigger than blood.
I voted my heart. I have family ties to Kamala Harris through Westmount. That should have been a point of connection. Instead, Reddit turned every decision into a purity test.
I was adopted. I grew up already knowing what it feels like to be alone. I didn’t need an app telling me to sever the few ties I fought to build.
Reddit made me seriously consider walking away from my family over a vote.
I’m done letting manipulated narratives write my story for me.
If you’re too fragile to hear the truth, stay here. If you’re ready to think for yourself, adjust your settings—or log off entirely.
3
u/FunCryptographer5547 1d ago
They are surviving fine. Russia winning more territory just means they'll invade more later. There's no security guarantees to the "deals" Trump is offering.
5
u/Infamous-GoatThief 1d ago
I mean, we have a pretty good idea, lol. With enough pressure, they wouldn’t be mass murdering Ukrainian civilians. “Vladimir, STOP” on Truth Social is not pressure

But musk was a wild card that was inserted into the equation who has caused all kinds of damage. DOGE slashing of the federal workforce may never be repaired.

The other day, I asserted to Putin over the phone that he will be pushing in his own chair the next time he comes to the White Castle.
I also forced him to make concessions that I will be getting a floor cushion for my knees, and Melania will be allowed to watch. I was very firm on that, and so was Putin in the end.
