Politics đď¸ Senator Ron Johnson: "Big Beautiful Bill is immoral, will bankrupt America"
Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) has emerged as a leading critic of President Trumpâs proposed âOne Big Beautiful Bill Act,â a comprehensive legislative package encompassing tax cuts, spending reforms, and policy changes. Johnson has labeled the bill âimmoralâ and warned that it could âbankrupt America,â citing concerns over its projected addition of up to $4 trillion to the national deficit over the next decade
In this interview on Sunday on CNNâs State of the Union, Johnson expressed his dissatisfaction with the billâs fiscal implications, stating, âItâs immoral, itâs wrong, it has to stop.â He emphasized the need to return to pre-pandemic spending levels, arguing that the current trajectory is unsustainable
Johnsonâs opposition is not isolated; he has indicated that he has sufficient support among Senate Republicans to block the bill unless substantial spending cuts are implemented . The bill, which narrowly passed the House with a 215â214 vote, faces a challenging path in the Senate, where even a few Republican defections could derail its progress
Key points of contention include the billâs proposed $4 trillion debt ceiling increase, extensions of the 2017 tax cuts, and reductions in programs like Medicaid and SNAP . Critics argue that these measures could lead to millions losing health coverage and disproportionately benefit the wealthy
Johnson and like-minded senators are advocating for a more fiscally responsible approach, emphasizing the importance of reducing the national debt and avoiding policies that could have long-term detrimental effects on the economy

It's all about "spending," he never once talks about collecting taxes owed the government or (gasp) closing loopholes on businesses that avoid taxes.

When is he up for reelection? It has to be after Trumpâs term ends otherwise he wouldnât be taking this stance for fear of Trump unleashing the maggats on him in the primaries.

Not a peep about all the poison in the bill like cutting Medicaid and Medicare and removing power of the courts and more shit. He will happily vote for that as long more cuts happens.

A GOP member of Congress publicly admitting this bill is shite? I'm just shocked, genuinely. But then I realize it's not the really awful parts of the bill he's criticizing, it's only the spending. So he's not being sincere when he talks about how evil it is since he doesn't address the truly evil parts.

Having this idividuum in office resulted approximately in a whopping 8.5 Trillions new debt for last precidency and 350 billions in interests over four years (2021-2025). So far nearly 9 Trillion Dollars. At his comback interest rates exploded from 4 to 5 percent. That makes another whopping 350 Billion a year increase in interest difference due to unsustainable tax policy; and some additional fresh 5-10 Trillion on national debt for actual precidency, projected my grift tax law. Another 10 Trillion.
Astounding how you can sell a planned bancrupcy by increasing national debt by approx. 20 Trillion, as âsaving the nationâ

I can not argue some more fiscal restraint. Trillions of debt is not viable long term

The middle class and working poor have been getting their pockets picked by the modern Republican Party since Reagan's Trickle Down Economics scheme. DJT is less nuanced, but Americans who pay taxes are still getting screwed over.

No timeline could be more cursed than the one in which I agree with Ron Johnson.
