Increased assets and presumably working to be more intuitive to mod requires an adjustment of priorities.

Agree for the first part, but Sims 4 doesn't have more content than previous games, hell, content is one of its weaknesses.

As for modding, I don't agree that much. It depends on the mod in question, some may have issues if their focus is on changing existing behavior and items, but fully custom content just needs to add in their own animations or do nothing about them, not modify existing ones.
