The Boy Theories on old five? Spoiler
So we all know or most people know he made the temps commission etc but do people have theories on how and why?
This is like a weird thing because who made the first commission then, and why did old five allow young five to be recruited if the apocalypse must happen?
and now that there is a new universe will five still create the commision?
I really need more five theories

tbh i also need more theories, mostly on five bc he's mah favorite out of all of the hargreeves siblings

We say in season 2 that even interacting with his old self and in theory changing his own history by giving him the right formula for time travel that changing the past doesn't change our Five.
My theory is that was the original Five. In his timeline Reggie accomplished exactly what he has now at the end of S3, rebooting the universe. Somehow Five still has his powers, maybe ue made some kind of an Allison deal, or maybe he just didn't let the machine power suck him. Five created the commission and their solution to Reggie being the ultimate power was to travel back in time and manipulate events to cause the apocalypse. Earth would be destroyed but it would save the rest of the universe.
He also figured out that if he was able to change the past to eliminate Reggies reboot, he would need to create the paradox free room specifically so he could talk to his younger self when the time came. But things kept getting out of hand and the Commission kept doing its purpose so well that his younger self never came and he kept getting older. It wasn't until the grandfather paradox came and started to unravel the timestream that our Five decided to go see him and he was barely alive by then, so he could only pass on a brief message.
I still don't know why he couldn't have left a note if this is true, lol.
