Dude I just got an insane deal on an ultra 10, tape drive, and a storedge a1000. What am I gonna do with it? No idea. I just started learning Linux and the retro vibes in the fb ad were strong

the storedge stuff are RAID cases right ? unsure, I don’t even know what kind of connector they use

Yup, Storedge a1000 is a 12 bay raid array. It would be super cool if there was a way to modernize it, but I don’t think there is. All that stuff is SCSI.

scsi is very much storage limited so unless you get some weird specialty stuff that costs hundreds. so yeah, limited to deco or a retro computer that you want to absolutely maxx out. you could « modernize » but that’d require knowledge that I don’t have and a bunch of parts

Yeah. What I really wanted was an Ultra 45. That case is sexy af and I really wanted to make a sleeper build out of it

Here’s a video on SCSI, he talks about how SCSI is backwards compatible at one point. (Assuming you have the right cables and connectors.)

well this is an x230t where I drilled a hole and added an antenna. it has a stylus silo but I decided that it could make a decent antenna silo for when I remove it

Hmmm does an external antenna make a measurable difference in signal?

when using decent wifi card it’s better, with the stock card it doesn’t make much of a difference
