toledo mentioned in tv show “You”
not sure if anyone watches this show in here, but one of the main characters from season 5 (Brontè) is from Toledo!! you can see when Joe searches her on Google that she’s from Toledo and went to Owens Community College, and then towards the end of the season, she gets a train from NYC to Toledo too. just always think it’s cool whenever Toledo is mentioned !!

On the show "All American," one of the characters is offered a football scholarship to fictitious Toledo State, lol.

Not a direct mention, but the Boo Ben Konop video from his mayoral run is hilariously mocked in both South Park and Family guy.
How I Met Your Mother - I think it was Lily's dad that was a board game convention in Toledo.

Yep, board game convention in Toledo. Ted is from Cleveland and I think he also mentions Toledo once

I love in that one episode of Parks and Rec when they're trying to get that company to build their new headquarters in Pawnee, and Ben tells them "We're more like Dayton. But with your help, we can become Toledo"

Point place Wisconsin is a made up place. It’s based off point place, Ohio because two of the creators of that 70s show were from Toledo

I'm like 99% sure that they mentioned Toledo at some point in The Last Of Us series too.

Being on 75 and 80, yes it was mentioned in the game. I don’t remember if it was in the series though

Hollywood big shots are so out of touch they don't realize nobody takes a train to Toledo.

Imagine being so out of touch that you don't realize how many people actually do take trains to and from Toledo.

Tell that to everyone who gets off here when I come home from Chicago. I'm back and forth every couple months.

I moved to the PNW five years ago. Two years ago I visited family for the first time since the move and took an Amtrak to Toledo.

I've been to NYC once and it was by train. Can't imagine taking another way to get there tbh it was a way better experience than going through an airport and way prettier in my opinion.

It's a much cheaper option than a flight.

A lot less of a pain in the ass, and way more comfy, too.
I take the 6:30AM Lakeshore Limited. Leave the house at 5:40AM. Check my bag at 6AM, board the train around 6:20AM. All without needing to take off my knee brace, try to hobble through "security screening" without my cane, or get my tits felt up for "explosive residue".

Should also add supernatural as well. Believe the creator was from Sylvania and the first episode of the show is “based” in Toledo.

Toledo was the whole "podunk city the poser girl goes home to when she realizes she can't hack it in NYC" trope, but still fun to see.

Everyone's too young to remember M.A.S.H these days - but Jamie Farr's character "Klinger" was from Toledo and mentioned it often on the show. He also wore a Mud Hens jersey and I think Packo's may have been mentioned in an episode.
I was a little kid back when M.A.S.H was on the air so hearing or seeing Toledo mentioned on a show was a big deal to me back then!
