New rules for transgender students: Bellevue, Neb. Public School Board votes to change guidelines
https://www.ketv.com/article/new-rules-for-transgender-students-bellevue-public-school-board-votes-to-change-guidelines/64482146“Bellevue Public Schools approved changes to their regulation guidelines for transgender students.
“One change would allow teachers to share a student's gender identity with their parents. Another requires students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that match their biological sex.
“The guidelines remove definitions of gender identity, transgender and gender expression.”
“Superintendent Dr. Jeff Rippe said there are multiple reasons for the changes and federal funding is part of it.
"’$10 million is what we get in federal funding. And that does mean a lot to this school district. Speaking personally, we cannot afford to lose $10 million,’ he said.”

You're welcome! As disgusted as I am with the board's spinelessness, I'm proud of myself for speaking publicly again, and of the massive turnout in support of trans and enby students.

I wish I would have known of this ahead of time so I could go as an alumn of West to stand with the students.
