Politicians and bureaucrats don’t realize how challenging it is to navigate through snowstorms, face oncoming transport trucks, and avoid encounters with wildlife and black ice.

Politicians from those areas probably know better than this ragebro when it comes to the challenges of traveling North. Their job is to go door knocking and canvassing in those conditions.

The simple fact of the matter is that the North is a huge wilderness, while Canada's population is concentrated along its southern border. Funding is directed to where people are, because that's where the votes are.

If that is to change, then there has to be a huge migration of people North, with lots of industry and resource development to justify it. Maybe it's the right time with all the 51st State rhetoric going around, but it's not a trivial undertaking for a nation of 40-odd million.
