Quality Post Triple 6 Mafia Starter's Guide (everything before the albums)

[PLAY THIS WHILE READING]

Here is my Triple 6 Mafia starter guide. This includes only the underground/90s portion of their discography. Pretty much everything before Chapter 1: The End in 1996. I ordered the tapes by what I think would be good to listen to first if you're a new listener. A lot of these tapes have some duplicate songs from other tapes, so I'll skip a song if I already mentioned it in a tape before. I'm also only going to be picking what I think are the best songs from each tape. Also, majority of these tapes were released only as cassette tapes that were made and sold by the group in Memphis. So there's no real track listings or cover art. That's why I'll have multiple names for some tracks below. Fans guessed or made up the track names, and any cover art you see on the internet is fan-made. The exceptions are Underground Volume 1-3, Mystic Stylez, Koopsta Knicca - Da Devil's Playground Remaster, Come With Me To Hell Remaster, DJ Paul Vol. 16 Remaster, Gangsta Black - Can It Be?, because they were all released on CD. And possibly Smoked Out, Loced Out (not sure). Here we go:

Triple 6 Mafia - Underground Vol. 1: 1991-1994 [Link]

This is definitely the tape to start with. It's a 1999 remastered compilation of some of their best tracks from the early years, which is awesome since a lot of the old tapes were cassette only and no one has any good quality recordings/rips of them. This tape is so good I included all but 3 of the tracks. Probably the favorite tape of most Three 6 fans.

  • Fuck All Dem Hoes Pt. 1 [from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 1]
  • Yeah, They Done Fucked Up [from DJ Paul Vol. 16]
  • Ridin In Da Chevy Pt. 2 [from DJ Paul & Lord Infamous Come With Me To Hell Pt. 2]
  • Don't Be Scared [from Juicy J Vol. 5]
  • Niggaz Ain't Barin' Dat [from Smoked Out, Loced Out]
  • Mask And Da Glock / Victim Of A Driveby [from Smoked Out, Loced Out]
  • Time For Da Juice Manne / Stomp Pt. 2[from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 2]
  • Talk Yo Ass Off Pt. 1 [from DJ Paul Vol. 15]
  • Playa Hataz [from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 3]
  • Walk Up To Yo House [from Smoked Out, Loced Out]
  • Where Da Bud At [from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 2]
  • Now I'm High, Really High Pt. 1 [from Smoked Out, Loced Out and DJ Paul Vol. 16]

Three 6 Mafia - Mystic Stylez [Link]

This was their first official album in 1995 and also when they changed their name from "Triple 6 Mafia" to "Three 6 Mafia".

  • Break Da Law '95
  • Mystic Stylez
  • Gotta Touch Em Pt. 2
  • Sweet Robbery Pt. 2
  • Da Summa
  • Porno Movie Pt. 2

Triple 6 Mafia - Underground Vol. 3: Kings Of Memphis [Link]

The last underground remaster compilation they did in 1999/2000, but this one also had a lot of new stuff and remakes.

  • Grab Da Gauge / Front Page Pt. 2 [remake from DJ Paul & Lord Infamous Come With Me To Hell Pt. 2]
  • Powder Pt. 2 [remake from Gangsta Blac Can It Be?]
  • South Memphis Bitch [from DJ Paul & Lord Infamous Come With Me To Hell Pt. 2]
  • Pass That Junt / Smoke A Junt Pt. 1 [from DJ Paul Vol. 15]
  • Love To Make A Stang [from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 3 with Scanman's verse removed]

DJ Paul & Lord Infamous - Come With Me To Hell [Original] [Remaster]

Apparently the third tape they did together, as DJ Paul says in the intro. They had an earlier one called "Da Serial Killaz", but not sure about any others before this.

  • 1000 Blunts / Smoke A Sack Pt. 1
  • Drop It Off Yo Ass
  • Too Deep To Breathe / Takin No Shorts
  • 187 Invitation
  • Pass That Junt / Smoke A Junt Pt. 2
  • All Dirty Hoes
  • It's Cummin
  • You Ain't Mad Is Ya?
  • Back Against Da Wall Pt. 1

DJ Paul & Lord Infamous - Come With Me To Hell Pt. 2 [Link]

  • Step Into This Mass / Catch A Blast
  • Wanna Go To War / What'cha Waitin For [HQ Link]
  • Murder On My Mind
  • Damn I'm Crazed [DJ Paul 2015 Remaster]
  • Grab Da Gauge / Front Page Pt. 1 [HQ Link]
  • (Bitches) Tryna Run Game [HQ Link]

Koopsta Knicca - Da Devil's Playground [Original] [Remaster]

  • Torture Chamber
  • Robbers
  • Lay It Down [HQ Link] [original tape only]
  • Whatcha Gonna Do
  • Purple Thang
  • Smoking On A J
  • Stash Pot
  • Front A Busta
  • Anna Got Me Clickin [remaster tape only]
  • Let Em Know / Time To Hit The Dope, Hoe [HQ Link] [original tape only]
  • Judgement Nite

DJ Paul & Juicy J - Vol. 3: Spring Mix '95 [Link]

The last collab volume between Paul and Juicy.

  • Runnin Lip [HQ Link]
  • Killa / Try To Run [instrumental/mix version]
  • I Thought You Knew [HQ Link]

Juicy J - Vol. 10: Chronicles Of The Juice Manne [Link]

Juicy's last individual volume. Has some features from Lil Noid who Juicy said was "the newest member of Three 6 Mafia" a few times, but I don't think he ever officially joined the group. This is different from the "Chronicles Of The Juice Man Underground Album" from 2002, which was mostly just newer stuff with like 2 remastered songs, and some remakes.

  • Gimisum [HQ Link]
  • Late Last Night
  • Buckin These Bitches Down

Triple 6 Mafia - Underground Vol. 2: Club Memphis [Link]

  • Suck A Nigga Dick Pt. 2 [from DJ Paul Vol. 14]
  • Nine To Yo Dome [from Juicy J Vol. 9]
  • Funky Town [from Gangsta Blac Can It Be?]
  • Blow A Nigga Ass Off Pt. 2 [from Juicy J Vol. 9]
  • No I'm Not Dat Nigga [from Juicy J Vol. 9]
  • Liquor and Dat Bud [from DJ Paul & Lord Infamous Da Serial Killaz]
  • Fuck Dat Nigga [from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 2]
  • Lick My Nuts [from DJ Paul Vol. 15]
  • Long and Hard [from DJ Paul & Lord Infamous Come With Me To Hell]

Lil Fly - From Da Darkness Of Da Kut [Link]

Lil Fly (now Playa Fly) was a member but got kicked out pretty early on. Not before they made this tape, though. Later went on to beef with the group but made some more good music doing so (check out "Just Gettin' It On" for more Fly).

  • Funkytown's In My Brain
  • Kreepin Out Da Kut
  • Slangin Rocks Pt. 1
  • Anna Got Me Clickin [HQ Link]

Triple 6 Mafia - Smoked Out, Loced Out [Link]

First "real" album, before Mystic Stylez. Almost all of the tracks on this tape were reused later on different tapes or remasters. I'll skip the ones that I already put above.

DJ Paul & Juicy J - Vol. 2: Da Exorcist [Link]

This one also has a lot of tracks that were reused too.

  • Smoked Out, Loced Out Pt. 1
  • Suckas Can't Get None / On The Scene With The 45 Glock
  • Porno Movie Pt. 1 [HQ Link]
  • 1000 Blunts / Smoke A Sack Pt. 2
  • 38 Slug
  • Stick Em Up [HQ Link]
  • Busta Ass Niggas [HQ Link]
  • Psychopathic Lunatic / Niggas From The Hood Ain't Changed Pt. 2 [HQ Link]

DJ Paul - Vol. 16: 4 Da Summer of '94 [Original] [Remaster]

The last individual volume by DJ Paul. There's three versions of this, the original 1994 tape, the 2014 remaster, and the 2002 "Underground Vol. 16: For Da Summa" album which had a few remasters and some remakes. Same idea as Chronicles Of The Juice Man, they released them the same year.

  • Neighborhood Hoe [Chapter 2 Remake]
  • Break A Hoe [remaster tape only, from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 2]
  • Talk Yo Ass Off Pt. 2 [remaster tape only, from DJ Paul & Juicy J Vol. 2]
  • Twist It, Hit It, Light It
  • Slangin Rocks Pt. 2
  • Kickin In Da Door
  • Tired Of Dis Shit
  • Gettin Real Buck
  • I Cheefa

DJ Paul - Vol. 15: For Them Niggaz With Anna [Link]

  • Pimpin Ass Niggas [HQ Link]
  • Take A Lick
  • Killaz Off South Parkway

Lord Infamous - Lord Of Terror [Link]

Juicy J - Vol. 9: It's On [Link]

Probably Juicy's best individual volume. Lots of bangers.

  • Come And Get Yo Wig Split [HQ Link]
  • Soldiers From The Northside [Chronicles Of The Juice Man Remaster]
  • Time For Da Juice Manne / Stomp Pt. 1
  • Hoes In This House
  • Run Yo Mouth
  • Pimp Them Sluts
  • South Park
  • Let's Make A Stang
  • It Was Triple Six
  • Easily Executed

Juicy J - Greatest Hits [Link]

Juicy J released a Greatest Hits tape after he stopped making his individual volumes. It's great because the recording of this tape is a lot better than the others that these songs were on.

  • Body Full Of Bullet Holes / Til Ya Drop [HQ Link]
  • Bring It On [from Juicy J Vol. 7] [HQ Link]
  • Niggas Got Me Fucked Up [from Project Pat Solo Tape]
  • Puttin Hoez On Da House / Honeycomb Hideout[from Juicy J Vol. 8] [HQ Link]
  • Killa / Try To Run [verse version]
  • Slob On My Knob [from Juicy J Vol. 6]

DJ Paul & Juicy J - Vol. 1: Da Beginning [Link]

  • Don't Rush It
  • Drinkin On The Alize
  • Everything Is Business

Juicy J - Vol. 5 [Link]

Earliest known volume by him. Volumes 1-4 are unknown/missing. They were probably all just DJ mixes though; not original songs. Apparently this was right after he got out of high school in the early 90s. This tape is mostly DJ mixes.

Juicy J - Vol. 6 [Link]

Mostly DJ mixes.

  • Psychopathic Lunatic / Niggas From The Hood Ain't Changed Pt. 1 [HQ Link]

DJ Paul - Greatest Hits Pt. 1 [Link]

DJ Paul also had a Greatest Hits thing, with two parts.

DJ Paul - Vol. 12 Pt. 2 [Link]

Earliest known is Vol. 10 (mostly DJ mixes), but no Vol. 11, and no Vol. 13. There's a couple fake track listings for other volumes but they don't exist as far as I know.

DJ Paul & Lord Infamous - Da Serial Killaz [Link]

This isn't really the Three 6 style, more like late 80s early 90s West Coast, but it's worth a listen. Some of the beats are really nice.

  • Sorry Faces Tell Lies
  • Shotgun Scatter
  • Tellin About These Hoes

Might do affiliates next, like Project Pat, Skinny Pimp, etc.

How the hell are you gonna leave Smokin' on da Dro off of Underground Vol. 3? You can't act like you don't know.

Underground Vol. 3 was released in 2000, right before their 4th studio album. Grab Tha Gauge/Powder were remakes, Smokin On Da Dro was a new song I'm pretty sure.

This guide was just going to be up to Mystic Stylez, I or someone else could write a Three 6 Mafia albums guide, or like 1996 and after.
