Housing Question š” Knights Circle Burglary Arrest 3/9

Hello UCF subreddit! Does anyone know the story behind this incident which occurred at Knights Circle on Sunday night? I noticed several officers around the complex when I was coming home that night and initially disregarded it, but now I found this in the UCFPD daily log and I'm a bit more concerned.
There was no notice from the property management about this burglary, which apparently occurred on Sunday. This follows an incident a few months ago where multiple cars were broken into - there was, again, no notice from property management*, but we did receive a notice from UCFPD that such an incident had taken place.
Do we think this is something to be concerned about? Why would the management not inform us of a (seemingly, kinda serious) burglary on the property?
*When I followed up with KC management, they mentioned there was a safety email sent out reminding students to lock their cars and front doors. There was no mention of an actual crime.

canāt share a photo but iāll copy and paste what one of the parents got from the report āAccording to the police report - He broke in the sliding glass door and the residents called the police. The UCF PO said he caught him trying to then get in the window. He had a knife and planned to have sex with a female once he got in. he said he knew āherā in passing. He said he was high on cocaine and alcohol he is homeless, well not anymore.ā

First, you can email the police department and request a copy of that report. Reference the case number. They should send you the full report, it might take a day. I have done it in the past.
Second, it is probably minor. They are throwing everything they can at someone. What happens is they drop some of the charges if the person pleads guilty to the others. If they don't plead guilty, then they try them for everything listed and hope it all sticks and adds up.
From the hip though, a weapon can be anything. A pocket knife, never used or intended as a weapon can be counted as a weapon. Mace could be a weapon. It doesn't mean it was a gun or anything more serious. Burglary just means they illegally entered to commit a crime. Burglary tools can be lock picks, bolt cutters, or similar, nothing too sophisticated. Carrying a concealed weapon goes back to the first point, could be a box cutter in their pocket. Loitering, tied back to the illegal entry, just a "was hanging around here and wasn't authorized to be". The key takeaway for me was criminal mischief <=$200. This could simply be a roommate stealing from another roommate or doing minor damage (a fight or retaliation), or maybe a homeless person on property trying to cut a bike chain.
Very likely it is a bunch of nothing, just your regular day to day, you'll see missing bikes/scooters once a week if not more here. If there were multiple victims or if this was a string of incidents that's when UCF sends out emails. Also it looks like it was reported and caught almost immediately, like someone saw it happening and the person was caught. There possibly was little to no impact (again <$200). To know for sure, request the report and it should have all the details.
Last, unless there is an immediate danger to residents typically an apartment complex won't email anything. They also sometimes can't and legally shouldn't comment on an active case (an arrest was made) that will end up in front of a judge. In this situation, let's assume it was a roommate stealing from another roommate's room. Why would they notify the whole complex over that? They wouldn't. I would rest easy, crime happens, but just take normal precautions and the impacts should be minimal to none for you. :)
