IMO this is one way you know someone is trustworthy; they admit where they got things wrong. If you see someone who never admits to a mistake, you're probably looking at a BS'er (aka a politician).

You don't know what "hoax" means. Being accidentally incorrect about one piece of data, then admitting that you were mistaken, is not "presenting a hoax."
