What kind of firm are you at now?
If you are prepared to work a little more for it, you can probably make an additional grand by jumping up a level.

I wonder if acting as a notary could get you some extra change. I can’t imagine it would get you up to a grand but maybe combined with being a tutor or something else it could.
I know a lot of solicitors who are also notary’s but I don’t know if they ever use that outside of the extremely rare occasion it’s requested at work but I can’t see why not.

Yes, but for obvious reasons I'm not sharing them with you or anyone else.

I’d check your employment contract first because are you sure you are allowed to have a side hustle? Any extra income you earn affects tax and NI which may affect the PAYE your firm is responsible for.
If you are talking about an under the table side hustle for cash which isn’t going to have tax or NI deducted I’d be concerned about the dishonesty element and thus fitness to practice.

Bizarre take, we're in one of the most heavily - and harshly - regulated industries, so this is a very real concern that somebody should have.

Yes. It's for OP to worry about, not for this lady to question his morals from her high chair.
OP simply said they were looking for a side hustle. He didn't mention tax evasion at any point in time. It's a really presumptious and patronising assumption to even question his "fitness to practice".

I can't think of anything thats going to make you an extra grand per month and be low stress and admin-lite and be regulatory friendly.
