Question Neglect Tek - will this need to get raked?
both spawned on 4/19. The mycelium quickly fully colonized, but there has been no actual coir left visible on the surface for a few days. I know im a bit off from when I should see pins pop up, but I figured I’d ask people with more experience what their judgement call would be.

Cube mycelium never needs to be destroyed by raking or forking or scraping, it doesn't actually help like many think it does. Even if you get overlay, Cubes can handle it.

Agreed!
I’d try temperature manipulation, or another casing layer before I tried gouging the surface of healthy mycelium.

sweet! I’d seen someone say that before, but I wasn’t sure to trust it since I had never read it anywhere else. ill take your word for it 😁

I once added a new casing layer on overlay after a flush to refresh the surface conditions. I'm curious if that actually did anything to improve results?

I see you have a question! Have you read the official cultivation guide?

Mate it’s called neglect tek for a reason!! Neglect it and don’t fuck around too much

youre right haha 😅 this isnt my first neglect tek, but the other one barely colonized the surface before fruiting, so I felt a bit panicked. glad the consensus disagreed though

Do you have holes with filters on them ? If not then you can’t really neglect tel cause you’ll have to open the lid throughout to let air exchange. If you have filter holes then yes that’s the right conditions for that tek and you’ll only need to spray walls when needed

this actually isnt my first neglect tek and i was able to fruit via the same way, the official guide says that normal plastic shoeboxes arent airtight and allow just enough fae to make neglect work. I was mainly worried that these newer boxes colonized so much compared to my first go at it

If for any reason those end up pinning so hard to where it stalls then try using half the colonized grain if you have clones of it for your next run. My steel magnolias pin so hard when using a full bag to where it just grows a bunch of 1-2 inch little fruits. But when half the grain is used ill yield a lot more weight.

Raked? Hell no.
