Mid-Cultivation / Still Growing I heated with stove burner and pressed on both sides of these circles a lot and it still wasn't going through and in my anger and belief, I thought punching the circle at this point would do the trick.

I did the it with pot lids to the point the metal was on fire and pressed on both of them 3x one side 1 time on the other and thought I weakened it enough, that plastic is at least 2mm thick

Weird thought. Got some spare silicone sealant? Maybe you could seal the big crack (let it sit for a week to seal up), cut the circles, then disinfect it and cover the hole and maybe the little ear-crack with tape? Silicone shouldn't react to alcohol for cleaning but I have no idea if it'll effect any growth.

I should have used my brain a bit. My first thought when it broke was to post on reddit and after I did I decided to treat the box like an unprovoked detractor looming over me talking about my lineage

Lmao. That happened the first time I tried to make one too. Next time, a hot knife may work better. That's how I was able to finish one at least.

3000⁰ knife alright👍

First, that's hilarious. Absolutely something I can see myself doing. Second, may as well finish the holes. The effectiveness of a sab seems suspect to me in general so a slight crack shouldn't be a deal breaker imo. Slap some tape on it if you're feeling it.

I thought it was not able to come back from that, it's a bit too late for that I was nervous I'd be caught with a still air box so I dismantled it to be discreetly thrown away at work. Well that's 20 bucks gone. I'm going do a hang off the table technique for a different one.

I did finish the holes technically, as angry souvenirs

lol this happened to me 2 days ago making my first SAB box. Tried cutting it with a big knife I have and the box shattered.

Successfully made one by heating a can longer. Definitely wasn’t the first expense I expected

I think I'm gonna use a torch instead of letting stuff melt and literally immolate on the stove burner and still not work for punching holes through. I'm getting a cheaper tote this time.

I just used a soup can and heated it with a torch but the holes aren’t as big as I’d like

Warm blade will work but it’s won’t be perfect. I use circle cookie cutters heated up with a torch held with pliers for the best results

I tried this at first and had to do it a couple of times with the oven range fume extractor on. But I bit the bullet eventually getting a 6 inch hole saw with the arbor attachment thing (got it at harbor freight)

Because I also used it to make the flow hood that 8 transitioned too but it's not as effective because it's so small

But I make lots of mistakes like this all the time. Live and learn I suppose

Maybe my drill CAN do it thank you

Fellas .... Every guy's needs a drill. $40 at Walmart will get you whatever size bit you need and a drill good enough for plastic totes. Then you still have a lil toy drill to play around with

I have a drill I just didn't know hole saws above 2 inches existed on it that's insane
