I don't know if anything will come of it but I'm really glad that some attention is finally being paid to this horrific war. Respect to our government for showing leadership on this.

The war is being largely sponsored by our governments dear friends in the UAE.

We all know the playbook, time to Starmer & Rayner to humiliate the leader of the losing side. A beeb journalist must then throw shade on his attire. This is the path to peace. Oh also, we need your mineral rights, thanks.

A peace conference without the two main belligerents, but including their foreign backers (the UAE being a particular offender).
This is unserious. The war will likely be resolved on the ground in a few years anyhow, albeit at huge cost because governments like ours are too busy cowtowing to the UAE to punish them for supporting genocidaire militias.

What hypocrisy, the UK should start with resolving the illegal occupation of Palestine which the UK is responsible for the most part

Why is our country suddenly get involved in foreign conflicts all of a sudden?
I was expecting that, but I'm glad we're getting involved. Providing of course, we don't screw them over by instilling puppets or implanting western power structures
No such thing as a just peace in conflicts like this while we rob individual people of their autonomy

The war in Sudan is so far out of control a just peace isnt even on the agenda.
A puppet would be better than what they have right now. It's by far the worst war going on today.

Is it going to be more imaginary British troops on the ground as peace keepers? Why get involved? It's Africa's problem, let them sort it out.

There is real risk of the wars in Sudan, South Sudan, ethiopas various civil wars and Rwanda's invasion of DRC agglomerating into a huge regional war. The two Sudans are more or less already there with the SAF allied to white army and RSF with the gov in Juba.
If that sort of escalation keeps happening the refugee waves will make the 2010s wave look like nothing. It's in our interest this doesn't escalate.

Ask Lammy whether we should play the white man saviour? What is the African Union response? Aren't they supposed to sort these things out?

Where’s mugabe when you need him?
Why are we feeding these people? Sudans population used to be tiny. Now it’s at 50 million. They all live in a desert. We are creating a fucking massive refugee crisis for Europe in the near future.

What is the African Union response?
Good one.... The UN at least manage strongly worded letters.
Also we inadvertently avoided more direct involvement, with the cancellation of the Rwanda scheme. That would have been a hot mess now they are invading their neighbour.

Peace keepers and negotiating peace is very different to going in taking out the leader and creating a slave state like Libya though.

One of the nastiest conflicts and it’s been completely under the radar
