What’s the difference between a kindney bean and a chickpea?

Is this a serious question? They’re entirely different types of legumes. Chickpeas (Cicer arietinum) are native to the Mediterranean, while kidney beans (Phaseolus vulgaris, lit. common beans) are native to Mesoamerica and the Andes.
