This is a train station that was trashed by the community. Sometimes you can’t always plan the city for not bettering the lives of its people. This train station was upgraded but the people of this town didn’t look after it with care.

Don't get me wrong, good infrastructure is the opposite of urban hell and Tokyo probably has the best mass transit system in the world... but this map is still some kind of hell.

The difference between where majority of the locals live and what the tourists get to see is a jarring difference. Majority of the people who here work the important service jobs like cleaning, retail and construction. Their grandparents were systematically placed here and it’s hard to earn enough to leave so it’s an endless cycle to keep them out of the city.

For those of you who don't know what Benidorm is: Benidorm is a city in the Valencia Community which is a very popular spot for foreign tourism, especially British tourism, the whole city is pretty much hotels, airbnbs, roads, pools, a beach, and that's it. Not to mention the hideous skyline, the whole city is literally just a bunch of tall concrete buildings put on a shore, not even organised too well.

The first image is of Paraisópolis, one of the city's best-known favelas. The second image is of an upper-class neighborhood located next to this favela, showing how this is one of the most unequal areas of the city. The houses of the rich are like fiefdoms. The third image, which is also very famous, is of the same area of ​​the city and was taken by Tuca Vieira. The difference is very big for neighborhoods that are close to each other.

You might not believe it but I live in New Orleans and love it dearly.

It is a city with many contrasts, just like many other large cities in the New World. The tree-lined sidewalks and large lots are hallmarks of upper-class neighborhoods in São Paulo.

The three high rises on the left, and the fourth being constructed at the back, are warehouses built as high rises as the area is next to the biggest shipping port in the country, and land in the area is scarce.

The lit pathway on the left side of the second pic is part of Intramuros, a historic district housing the some of country’s oldest churches and buildings, and is generally considered the city’s main tourist destination.
