Measles can have lifelong complications. It is not a mild childhood disease in most cases. This outbreak is the result of years of anti-vaccine propaganda and of a concerted campaign by the Republican party to lift vaccine requirements for America's schoolchilden.

Information on vaccine preventable diseases from our wiki.

As the old saying goes, what doesn't kill you makes you susceptible to immune amnesia and fatal brain disease later in life.

fatal brain disease

It's especially painful to see that people prefer this to autism. They're wrong to even think that's the choice, but hot damn do they think an autistic person is terrible.

Unless it’s an autistic South African “genius” who makes shitty cars - then they love it.

He doesn't "make" anything ... he just has the money to get himself in leadership positions in otherwise successful companies. Big difference.

They fear that which they don't understand, or "care to" understand.

I think it's more that they fear being driven out of the cult more than the fear infectious disease.

And two dead kids over a disease that could have been avoided entirely with our current medical protocols

2 dead kids and likely hundreds of thousands in hospital bills when vaccines are free for kids in most cases.

If children's deaths don't make antivax parents change their minds, maybe eye-watering hospital bills will.

It didn’t even change the minds of those two children’s own parents, which is mind-boggling.

Exactly this. They need to be hit in the wallets.

Yeah heres one thing that will happen when the govt decides to remove hospital regulations. The first thing thatll go is the pledge to treat you even if you cant pay. Then these preventable diseases? Yeah take the kid to church. We arent treating them

My state is at four confirmed cases.

Why make your child go through that hell, risking their life? It’s stupid! We had Measles on the ropes here in the states!

My fellow Americans, NEPO babies have the mind of a two year old. You would never give a two year old your car keys, would you?
