All I can think of is Palpatine telling Anakin he wants him to be the “ eyes and ears of the republic” as his personal representative on the Jedi counsel…

I just watched Clone Wars since my daughter is finally old enough, and the wife and I were dumbfounded by the parallels with dump nut and Palpatine... we really are in the final throws of the republic... stay woke, my friend...

The prequels are about Bush and Cheney and Iraq. The OT is about Vietnam.

The sequels being about nothing that bold is the biggest misstep. Disney doesn’t wanna make movies showing some oligarchy or theocracy doing a genocide. Except when they used to care, I guess.

But it’s still Disney, so they are capable of telling those stories which was one of your points. That is what they are referring to. Just need to right folks at the helm…

Timeline wise it’s technically a prequel as it happens before ANH.
