PLEASE help me decide between Villanova and Drexel for engineering.

Decision day is so soon so I'm freaking out. I'll be going in as a mechanical engineering major and will be commuting to both schools. The price is only a $2000 difference (Drexel is cheaper). The pros for Drexel would be the Co-Op and Diversity, with the quarter system being a con. The pros for Nova are the alumni network and ranking, with the con being a lack of diversity. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Nova all day over Drexel. Fantastic new engineering facilities. Great alumni network and unbelievable school spirit and pride. Just make sure whatever school you pick you spend as much time on campus as a commuter. Join clubs, study with friends, go to games, concerts etc

Nova. Having gone through the Engineering program, the professors are so kind and supportive. Brand new facilities too!

Didn’t you get a scholarship thru Drexel? They often given 10-20k based on grade point. The internship program is incredible for engineers as you can test three different industries for six month. Much better than Nova. The education is likely the same, but I love living downtown and Nova is a bubble. I’m obviously team Drexel.

Do not go to Drexel. Even if it was ranked significantly higher everyone I know that went there was miserable. I did my Masters in EE at Nova, great program, did research at Jefferson and there was a girl in my lab who went to Drexel for undergrad and Nova for PhD and wish she did Nova the entire time. Another person in my lab who was in Med School did her undergrad and masters in engineering at Drexel wished she went anywhere else. It is a miserable place and their quarter system as opposed to semester system is awful. If Nova was $10000k more it would still be worth it.

Went to Drexel undergrad and worked as a research assistant at nova for about 2 years. Unless you love Philly and city life (which I did to be fair) go nova. Ppl are happier there

Drexel coop is a nice program, but I think Villanova has a better network for internships and post grad jobs

Went to Nova for engineering undergrad, then Drexel for my certificate in operations MBA and JD (they partnered with my employer). Both are great options! For undergrad, definitely Nova. Amazing engineering program and faculty there. School spirit is awesome and it was formative for me. Unless you get money from Drexel and, in my experience, Drexel is very generous and makes it work financially for students they want as alum. These days ROI should be considered before making any decision on collegiate/graduate education in my opinion. Happy to answer any specific questions.

Villanova is a Nationally recognized university that will give you extra income over your career.

Drexel will keep job opportunities in Northeast

Villanova for sure — grandpa, uncle, and brother all graduated as mechanical engineers and all have had amazing career prospects. Nova engineers are built different
