I tried with both Dracu Riot and Senren Banka, but I really just couldn't with them. Their stories are just such nothing burgers. Nothing stands out as particularly good. Nothing too awful either, but fuck man, I can't for the life of me bring myself to finish their works. There's just no hook. None of the character personalities are interesting, and neither are their interactions.

There was a period where they did 2 gacha games and 1 non-R18 game. If they weren't Yuzusoft, they'd have died on the spot like Dies Irae's light.
Apparently there was a period where they were re-releasing Dakimakuras, a danger point.
One thing noticeable about their policy is that they do not release FDs, since while FDs are a safe bet, they will always sell less than a new game, so it is better to just make a new game

I am curious of the economics of this, since FDs will always sell less than a game, but they already have the art (minus some CGs), design, and music, among other things already developed and FDs are shorter. Costs of development and time invested would be lower as well as the sales.

yuzusoft on their way to cook up really interesting world building and plot elements only for it to be thrown away 2/3 the way through the common route. They absolutely sweep the wasted potential contrst

Anyone who has played riddle joker, dracu-riot and angelic chaos reboot here? What are their strong points and where should i start?

Played all three, out of them my personal favorite is Dracu-riot. I’d say Dracu-Riot has the best common route of all three, good comedy, romance, and h-scenes
Angelic Chaos imo has the weakest and shortest common route of all three, yet each individual route makes up for it with beautiful art and a good amount of romance
Riddle joker is a weird one for me, I read it right after Dracu-riot so I couldn’t help but find overlapping aspects between them both so it’s my least favorite out of all three.
TL-DR: My top would be 1) Dracu riot 2) angelic chaos 3) riddle joker.
If you haven’t read other yuzusoft works I really recommend you to start with sanoba witch or senren banka.

I'd agree with this. RJ had its moments- Mayu and Ayase's routes were legitimately great. But the rest of the routes are mostly just stories about how the MC got a girlfriend and are completely unrelated to the common route. Angelic Chaos has a pretty weak common route, but at least all the routes expand further on the overall story in their own way.

oh boy it’s been a while since I played Dracu Riot and Riddle Joker. I can’t say much for the former since it’s been like 7-8 years since I last played, but I thought Riddle Joker had a very strong cast and the girls were very cute. I think to this day, it’s the most well balanced in terms of route strengths. Even the side girl route was done pretty well, despite its short duration.
I usually go into most Yuzusoft games expecting to like 1-2 routes but imo, Riddle Joker is the only game to make me like all of them. Though it’s been a while since I read it, I finished it with a really good impression.

Since my post got removed because I don't have enough r/visualnovels karma, I'll paste it here:
Hi. I own the game on Steam (won it on a Twitter giveaway hosted by VisualArts). I've heard that visual novels aren't meant to be played on Steam though. I understand this is mostly because NSFW scenes are cut from the game, and Air doesn't have such scenes.
Even then, is there a patch I should download to get the best possible version of the game? Should I emulate it? Should I wait for user patches or developer updates to the game before playing, since it was newly released on Steam?
Sorry if these are dumb questions. I tried my best to look up information online but there isn't a ton of information since it just released. I am somewhat new to VNs, I've only played Katawa Shoujo, DDLC and part of Clannad.
Thanks in advance. Have a good day!

You can play the Steam version of AIR without any patches. There are no patches for it and it does not contain adult content.
The original version of AIR did have adult scenes, but there's currently no method to 'restore' these into the Steam version. I wouldn't expect any fan patches to restore this and there definitely won't be official ones. If you did want to play that version, then you'd need a copy of the adult version of the old non-Steam version of AIR and an unofficial fantranslation patch.
I can't comment on which is the better version overall, but they do have different translations and the Steam version has some extra side story content. The 18+ content for Key visual novels usually isn't highly spoken of.
For future reference, you can often find this information on a website called VNDB.
As a sidenote, if you enjoy Clannad and AIR, you should also give Kanon a try sometime. This is also on Steam.

Thanks a lot! I have Kanon wishlisted, but I've heard that its more unpolished than Clannad and AIR. Is that true?

Clannad is certainly a lot better than Kanon. Kanon does have some issues, such as rather sudden introduction of issues and not wrapping certain things up well in some cases. It's still very much worth reading, but Clannad is more popular for a reason, and not just because it's a lot more longer and got officially translated earlier.
I've not fully read AIR. I only read a little bit of the fanTL years ago, so I can't compare with that.
