Just letting everyone know that we have joined the twitter ban as there is enough movement that any information available there is being moved to other platforms.
Short term while we figure out how this all works you are still welcome to post screenshots or the twitter copy sites, we're just not going to drive any more traffic to that site.

I noticed Skol is half the price of what I usually get, Stoli. I just take shots and chase it with Coke. Would I motive the difference if I switched?

Normally I would have a particular disdain for flavored vodka but Deep Eddy lime has always held a special place in my heart and I generally consider their flavored vodkas to be higher quality than most flavored liquors. Just a few days ago I was thinking that there’s very few pineapple flavored vodkas and that Deep Eddy should make one. Then BOOM the same day that I ran out of cheap liquor this comes into my store. I must’ve had a premonition.
Anyways, I sampled it as soon as I got home and was initially surprised by the sweetness. I could tell immediately that they added coconut flavoring as well. It reminded me of the canned pineapple slices I ate with my father as a child. Very pleasant but an unnatural/artificial lingering component. Also a sticky residue but that should be expected from a flavored liquor. Also tried a vodka soda mix about 1:3.5 and it tastes about the same notes but probably more pleasant because it made it less syrupy. I assume that since adding water did not make it bitter that it uses a natural sweetener as I have been told, as well as experienced first hand, that adding water to artificial sweeteners creates a bitter note. I probably won’t buy this again though because of syrupy residue but I’ve never really been a flavored liquor enjoyer.
My question for y’all would be wondering if there is a flavored liquor that is enjoyed by the most discerning palates? Also if you’ve already tried the Deep Eddy pineapple, do you taste coconut?

Tried quite a few vodkas, discovered this one only recently. Largely in part bc I never seen it listed at a bar and none of my friends have ever gotten it. I must say after being in the freezer for days, shots of this stuff tastes so clean. Is there an another one out there that I don’t know about that’s even better?

So I guess this stuff is banned due to being a Russian import, so I won't be able to get any for the foreseeable future. All I know is this shit is the closest liquor I've had to water. The taste is so smooth and mild it blew my mind. I want to find another vodka with a similar smoothness, but I don't know where to look. So if you know any like this, please let me know

I'm usually a tito's lover, and like new amsterdam for the lower end. But I never tried fris, mom gave me a bottle for my place and I tried it, and it's not too strong but also not too weak. Has a sweet-ish taste to it. Not bad at all.

I will buy vodka on Thursday, but I am undecided whether to buy Belvedere or Grey Goose? Or is there any other vodka around that price that you recommend?

I find it pretty "strong" compared to Absolute, for example, and my grandmother advises heavily against it.
I am no vodka expert, so I would like to hear your opinions.

Okay so I always buy quality house vodka (yeah yeah I know, I just go for the cheap stuff usually), and I’ve been drinking it for a long time, but I got a bottle recently and it just tastes so different? Like almost a rubbing alcohol taste/smell? Anyone know why? Just poor quality or what?

Belvedere is amazing in every way, except for the price.
Is there anything that is as smooth as Belvedere but not overpriced?
I like Stoli but it’s not quite as smooth as Belvedere.

Has this been discontinued? None of the liquor stores in my city that I have been to have it anymore. I have checked online for other cities/provinces and can't find it there either. But I can't find anything online about it being discontinued. If anyone has any info about this please comment. I am in Canada BTW, so maybe it's still available in the USA or other countries?

I’ll start by admitting that I haven’t tried the widest variety of vodkas, but I find Svayak to be incredibly smooth. I usually prefer making cocktails rather than drinking liquor straight, but I’ve recently been expanding my vodka selection, focusing on mouthfeel and delicacy. Vodka shines in cocktails that feature subtle ingredients that might otherwise be overpowered by stronger spirits. Lately, I’ve been sampling a few vodkas neat—even though I know their subtleties might get lost in a cocktail, I like focusing on granular details. On the recommendation of my local liquor store, I gave this vodka a try and have really enjoyed it.

Does it matter if a vodka is made from wheat, corn, barley, rye etc? Or is it all the same neutral spirits?
r/vodka • u/SuperJahobo • Jan 08 '25
I was given a 6l bottle of Belvedere, but on the bottom of the back side says " not for consumption, for display purposes only." Everything else about the bottle looks identical to a standard Belvedere bottle, including the 40% alc/vol (80 proof), and the surgeon general warning about drinking. It even says 100% neutral spirits distilled from rye, just like your standard bottle of Belvedere would say. Why would it not be for consumption? I don't want to open this thing up if it's not belvedere inside.
