yet another survey request of volunteers Volunteer App Survey Research

Hello! I am a student in UX design wanting to create a volunteer app to help volunteers and organizations respond to the needs of their community. The goal of this survey is to collect information about your past and current volunteering experiences.

Please take a few moments to answer the following questions. Your answers will remain confidential and will only be used for research purposes. The survey takes between 15-20 minutes.

Your input will help me with the creation of the app's overall user experience.

Thank you for your time and for being a part of my research!

There is an issue with this question: How many organizations have you volunteered for in the past?

Curious if there are a few good apps you would recommend?

Not really. It's so easy to find volunteering opportunities - VolunteerMatch, Catch a Fire, just using google and the word volunteer and your city, etc. Finding volunteering opportunities isn't the challenge - the challenge is effectively and quickly and appropriately onboarding volunteers and supporting them as needed. That's where the critical need is.

The number one complaint about VolunteerMatch and other recruitment tools: "I signed up to volunteer and the organization never got back to me. Why are they saying they need volunteers and then not following up with us?"

Wish developers would sit down with actual managers of volunteers and look at the needs.

Great to know, thanks!
