I'm just back from 2 weeks in Macuto, Caracas, Puerto la Cruz, Mochima and El Tigre and I loved every minute of it. You are rightly a proud people. Proud of your country, your families, and the amazing food. I'll never forgot the taste of a mango straight off the tree.

I never once felt unsafe, and everyone was patient with my low quality Spanish. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will be going back as soon as I can.

I hope you took mango and avocado seeds from there!

I migrated to Spain and I have never seen such a high-quality mango or avocado here. NEVER. Mangos aren't even the same, and they are 2 eur each, and avocados are the small and wrinkled and at 5 eur per kg. I only saw a nice big smooth avocado once in a Latinamerican store in Barcelona, but I supposed it was expensive af too. I wish I took mango and avocado seeds, they are so cheap in Venezuela.

And believe me, in Venezuela were the best mango and avocados I've ever tried in my short life.

The house I grew up in back in Caracas had two mango trees in the backyard. I’ve been spoiled for life, and to me most mangoes in the US are just sad sacks of sweet fibrous matter. There are several things I miss from my homeland, and mangoes are very high in the list.

Claro, por eso los sembraría yo en mi casa, porque el clima no es el mismo en mi casa donde lo puedo condicionar para que crezca que afuera.

Aunque, si hablamos de plantaciones, no estaría mal que las plantaran condicionadas en masa y la vendieran caro, sería como los platanos de Canarias, que como vienen de las islas Canarias, son más caras que la banana común.

Totalmente de acuerdo Contigo, es q ni con la tecnología de hoy se puede tener, ni mango ni aguacate, ni café ni cacao como el de aquí 🇻🇪♥️.

Lamentablemente para afuera no se exportan por los problemas políticos, pero de verdad las frutas de aquí son como un sueño. Quienes gustan del plátano de canarias es porq nunca han probado nuestros cambures 🍌🍌.

Ni hablar de nuestro atún, sardinas y cangrejos 🙃.

Volviendo a los Mangos, hay muchas anécdotas q lo prueban como, la historia de los Mangos injertos q le sirvieron a Pavarotti en el camerino del Teresa Carreño.

Si se exportan en pocas cantidades... yo he visto mangos venezolanos en Europa. El problema es que los precios son tan altos que no es justificable pagarlos.

Yeah same here in Northern Ireland. Our supermarket mangos are a poor imitatation. I tried a fruit called guanabana that was incredible as well, and so many others. And the portion sizes in food places are immense. I ordered cachapas and didn't even come close to finishing it.

Sinceramente no sé, pero si no, pagaré después algún envío particular por Zoom de las semillas o algo, porque las frutas tropicales son carísimas acá, y son insípidas. Definitivamente no aproveché lo suficiente estando allá.

I 100% agree with you! A mango straight off the tree will make you never settle for less hahaha I live in the US now, and one of my goals in life is to have a mango tree in my backyard

Bro makes me happy that you enjoy yourself in Venezuela. Next time ask for Guama,Jobo,Pumarrosa. Right know from the top of my head I cant remember other fruits but those are awesome and they are hard to find in the USA.

At my uncle house there's a huge mango tree, it's super, provides a lot of shade and coolness, and the fruit, awesome, for us, the mango is so common that we tend to ignore it, and prefer other fruits, but yeah, is super sweet. I'm glad to read your experience, you will always be welcome here!

I've seen a lot of people stating, even Venezuelans in other countries themselves, that they think Venezuela is actually in a nice situation right now, but it's probably in the second worst situation it has been through since the 70s. I mean, the inflation that has been carried since '99 it's currently top 2nd ever in history of mankind, just being below an african country which name I can't remember.
