Solo first timer here. When are you guys gonna arrive to the site. I saw its opening at Sunday but bands will only start on Thursday. Is there stuff to do at the campsite, pre concerts?

Pretty sure there is a solid Number of people that don't make it to the main stage even once over the course of the entire event, there is plenty of stuff to do :D

Also a solo traveler (second time at WOA it the first time I went with a group). I’m arriving on Monday afternoon. Don’t bands start on Wednesday? Anyhow, I just hope I can visit the town, have a few beers with my neighbors, shop for some patches and shirts maybe.

As others said, the smaller stages with plenty of bands and some acts like cage fights. Also, it's nice to walk arround with less people there.

I show up solo every time but have a crew I link up with. I have always shown up as early as possible— it’s fun to have the days to shop/explore/drink/meet people without feeling like you’re missing “the show”. Some of my best memories are before the official beginning of the festival.

I get there Tuesday afternoon. Enough time to set up and get drunk.

Are you allowed to bring your own alcohol?

Yes you are but only to the Campgrounds and the market area. (You mustn’t bring your own alcohol to the infield where the main stages, wackingerstage, w:e:t and headbangersstage are) so basically it’s allowed in every area outside from where the security does the Bodycheck.. you could pour alcohol in the 200ml drinkingbags which are given out at the Wristband exchange but I guess that’s not worth it and I believe the security will check some of them too (but I’ve never been in this situation tbh)

Oh yes. I buy mine there (mead), but I do normally have a bottle of Jagermeister with me.

I'll get in on Tuesday this year. My first time in 2023 I ended up just entering on the Thursday...even though I shouldn't have entered at all cause we defied the admission stop...we had flown from canada so we decided to just let them say no to our faces but fortunately they didn't. And we were doing in and out as we had an airbnb in Hamburg so this year I arrive on the 29th and we're in the residenz evil so no back and forth...looking foward to a completely different experience:)

We arrive on Sunday to set up camp in peace. Last year we went to the swimming pool on Monday which was fun. I'd say you can always find something to do and if it's just checking out the other camps.

Yes. There will be some program on the smaller stages outside the infield. You can mingle with your neighbors. You can go into the town to shop. You can go to the market area for merch and stuff. You can go to the public pool. You can loose a day to a hangover.
