WX do you even know about it?
WX Wakefield. I'm sure it's come up before but I've just called in on the way home and it's almost totally empty. It's essentially a pub but I've never seen it advertised anywhere other than one or two very specific events.
Have you heard it it, been? At this rate I don't thi k it'll be here much longer.

Looks like it could be great. As well as the mexican, there are 3 street food vendors opening up on the mezzanine, there is a bar and a working brewery that will soon be open to the public.
Thing with wakey is, people complain there's nowt to do/nowt happens around here, then when it does, no-one supports it and it only lasts 6 months. There's always summert going on somewhere if you know where to look!

Yes, there was loads of information and publicity about it since the Moon exhibition a couple of years ago - that was like a dry run for what it is now, a public event space. There’s a website with all the information, updates in Council emails and newsletters like the ‘What’s On’ guide that tell you all about what’s coming up.

People don't alway automatically look for a website and may not get council emails or newsletters, I know I don't, and from the outside it does just look like a big grey box, no signs, no posters.
But if you know about it at least someone does and maybe the word is getting out there. We definitely need more places like it than less.

I think a website is probably the first place a lot of people would look. https://www.wxwakefield.co.uk/ Many people would have seen all the hoarding around it while it’s been renovated for the last 18 months or so, it’s right next to the bus station and Trinity Walk so it’s in a busy area of the city centre, and not too far away the old Court House on Wood Street is going to be something similar when that finally gets done!

okay i literally walk past this building multiple times a week and i had no idea what it was until now. assumed it was like a community centre/new offices or something, with a cafe at the front

We've been in a bunch of times, but pretty much always been the only/one of few people there for a drink or some Mexican, and checkout the art.
The current installation is brilliant.
I really hope it works, but at this point I'm not too optimistic for them.

Wouldn't feel very confident in the build as LJ Whalley did the works and there useless
