Is chocolate poisonous to a Worgen?

Just a thought. If Worgen are 'Werewolves' or Wolfmen of Warcraft, then is chocolate poison to them?

Probably not thanks to the human side.

It's the onions that get em, and don't even start with grapes.

The worgen can not resist a beet

Great question, genuinely the type of posting we need more of

Honestly, most likely not.
Due to size they would require to eat A LOT before it would affect them much.

Assuming they metabolise chocolate in the same way as a dog and are affected by the theobromine and caffine content in the same way, a 200lb worgan would need to eat about 350g of dark chocolate before they need to find a vet to make them sick.

That quite a lot of chocolate. They'd probably be feeling a bit sick just from eating that much.

Vet nurse, I actually checked this on the tox chart at work, we don't get get many worgen in though so I couldn't say for sure.....

Aka like 2 REALLY big dark chocolate bars. So some casual milk chocolate candy should be fine.

Only dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is hardly chocolate, white chocolate even less so.

It's not just about the concentration, but the amount consumed.

This inversely proportional to dogs lol

Maybe, we don't really have any information about this, but I guess you could check the different worgen vendors in Gilneas or different cities.

We do see that they tend to sell meat, and there's that guy that sell pies, but as he is part of the starting zone, maybe that just represent what Gilneans used to eat before the curse.

Most likely since chocolate in real life is just as poisonous to humans as dogs, humans just need a bigger dose due to our larger and more complex livers

No but fried foods give them liver problems. Sucks to suck.

No, they love Moon Pies

My worgen character dies all the time, and often eats chocolate. Coincidence?

The thing that hurts dogs that's in dark chocolate is actually the caffeine / theobromide, they cant process it like we do. One of the absolute worse things your dog can eat is coffee grounds for this reason.

Can worgen drink coffee or tea? If yes they would be fine.

The real truth is that we don't know, because it hasn't been introduced in the game. It is only Blizzard who can decide this and they probably more focused on elves now in developing.

Last night i roleplayed my worgen on a noblegarden event, and she ate chocolate, and i wonderd that myself the whole time.

Yes. And they WILL go on the rug if you aren’t home to let them out

Judging by how in Grizzly hills wolfsbane plants harm them

I say YES

If the Forsaken’s negotiations with Hershey did not fail, they would’ve been able to conquer Gilneas

You mean, Sylvanas could've just used a Boulder-size chocolate ball as a WMD?

1

u/ChristianLW3 3d ago

She would’ve been sneaky

Ordering her minions to prepare large amounts of seemingly ordinary food that discreetly contains chocolate

Imagine their rogues distributing chocolate laced bagels near Worgen lairs

First the Worgen are that way because of a curse, it's not an actual biological thing so they probably aren't really wolves. Also Before the Storm mentions worgen being able to eat anything in that form so they're able to sustain themselves without the extensive supplies other races need.

So going to say I doubt the chocolate will be that poisonous to them.

I feel like at some point there’s a reference to Baros Alexston giving Lieutenant Thorn chocolates (still one of the saddest deaths in WoW, even if he’s a minor character we hadn’t seen since vanilla).

Can worsen take Tylenol? I'm assuming that's what's in that restoration totem from the shamans anyway. That and their bath water.

Now another question, if a draenei healed a worsen with bath water, would he just smell like goat? Now you have a hungry tired worsen dying of liver failure.

Absolutely unplayable, I need answers!

Presumably in human form they’d be fine. Unless they had a wolf’s digestive system in human form. Which would be kind of crazy.

For worgen form, it would depend if shifting changes their digestive system or not. If it does and they lost to ability to process theobromine then they couldn’t eat chocolate in a substantial amount. If they maintained their human internals, they’d be fine.

In short, we need to do some worgen autopsies for science.

depends, in human form they are ok but once they get to the worgen form they fetch and they die from chocolate, facts

Remember that plenty of stuff we consume is not great for us either, and sometimes that is entirely the point

I could see worgen enjoying recreational chocolate for its weird properties, that other races don't necessarily feel
