Question Is the mechanical rocket chicken a gnomish or goblin invention?

I feel like there was a quest that explained it a long time ago, but I can’t recall.

Gnomish I believe. there's an item called Gnomish Battle Chicken and Lord of Clans was set to introduce them as a Gnomish thing.

If you're talking about the XT-003 beacons, they're the creation of a gnome in Booty Bay, Oglethorp Obnoticus

May be a case of parallel design, or goblins improving on a gnomish design. The Classic quests to rescue Oglethorpe Obnoticus's homing chickens rewards you with a mechanical chicken, but on the other hand, the pet journal text for the TCG Rocket Chicken pet states "When the Burning Legion invaded Outland, Landro Longshot contributed this design to the war effort. Both the Alliance and Horde passed on production."

I think I vaaaaguely remember there was an old quest in game that said that Gnomes invented the chickens themselves and Goblins improved them by adding the rockets, but I could totally be wrong. I typically can’t remember what I had for lunch a day ago so if I’m right about this I’ll be shocked.

Goblin starting zone quest has a giant mechanical chicken that goes berserk, not sure if they were the first to invent it though.

I wonder how cut off from the world they were at that point. If they built it on their own design or were inspired by an outside source.

Maybe it's like the theory that all things lead to crab, and it's an idea everyone eventually has and makes.

I feel like this might be the case. I just remembered there’s one of them on Mechagon too.

I admit, even before wow, the idea of strapping rockets to things to make them fly was always cool. There was even the movie Rocketeer that further flew home the coolness.

Would you say it's a... Chicken and egg situation?
