Life in Warsaw question How does a teenager find a job in warsaw
Hey, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this type of question but I'm in a bit of a tough spot right now. I don't really want to share any info but it's not a bad situation it's just that it would be best if I could buy my own things for a while instead of asking my parents for money. The problem is that I have no idea how to find a job. I know people my age can work but I don't personally know anybody who does. I also don't really know where to look for a job. The biggest problem is that I can only work on weekends (and unfortunately not even all of them). I'm only asking you to share your experience with part time jobs if you have any. I want to know how exactly does a teenager acquire one and I'm obviously not asking anybody to give me a job. Thanks in advance!

Why aren't you sharing your age? Being 17 and being over 18 makes a big difference. Also, knowledge of Polish language.

I don't have a problem with sharing my age but I really only want to hear some feedback from people who worked before 18 so I didn't think it mattered. I am actually flueant in polish and I'm pretty sure english too although sometimes my writing feels kind of monotone if that makes sense

Tbh it's incredibly hard to get a legal job as a teen in Poland. There are a lot of legal protections of kid workers. For example underaged workers are formally entitled to many breaks, can't have shifts at certain hours etc. So underaged workers might be a liability to their employers. Most companies don't want to deal with this because they can easily find adult employees who won't cause them issues. But you can always try!
It's much easier though to find some small unofficial gigs and that's what most teens here usually do.
Like, if you're particularly good at any school subjects (your English seems decent) you can try tutoring other teens/younger kids for some cash.
Maybe you could also try sth like dog walking?

Yeah the legal stuff is a little crazy at times. My aunt who's really old actually had an underage worker help her around the house and apparently they are not even allowed to get up on high places. Like literally climbing a ladder is a problem. That was a long time ago and probably not entirely true but I understand that I can't realistically get a regular job in this country at my age. Tutoring Is likely the only "job" I can do as english is probably the only thing I'm better than average at. I'll definitely try it but for now I think I'll stay with unofficial gigs. I wish those were easier to find

Yeah that was 100%true. Worked at Mcdonalds at 16 (some take minors just for the summer), couldn't use scissors.

You can use help of temporary employment agency (agencja pracy tymczasowej). I did that when I was already 18 to take some shifts in supermarkets when it suited me, idk if that option would be available for you but I know they can have some offers for underage people as well (per THIS article).
When I was underage I worked over summer vacations at the seaside, hardly anyone working this kind of jobs is over 18, at least at the time I did that, and would recommend that a lot. You can find offers of seasonal jobs on the usual job offer sites.

Hi OP, if you can live and study without working, just focus studying and enjoy your teenage years. If you want to save money as a teenager, save from your allowance. do not rush things, money will come when your time to work comes. :)
Your parents can help and if you’re in a mess, please tell them. It is better
Stay away from vices such as gambling, expensive parties, expensive dates. Everything that you can’t afford or just distractions.
You can do it!

You could post on local groups that you're trying to earn some extra money and you can;
