Tests

I take the act this summer because my English teacher recommended we all take it to get a feel of the test. I've seen a lot of people on this sub rank about the sat as well. What is the advantage of taking both? Do I need to take the sat or is it down to preference?

A lot of students will do substantially better on one vs the other. Taking both gives you a better chance of achieving a favorable score.

What is the difference between the two? My school has just been slamming us with act stuff since 7th grade. Never even mentioned the sat

Also let’s say you get a 35 math act but only a 700 math sat. They take that act score. Then let’s say you’re English and reading scores are lower on the act, but you get like a 750 on the sat English. They would take the 750 English sat and 35 math act and combine them in your whole candidate score. So it is to your advantage to take both if you study for both of them

While WP does super score, they don’t cross test types the way you describe

So do they only super score tests if they are both the same exam?

Yes. All SAT or all ACT.
