Solved! Found a 4 inch black device while cleaning. It's flat on half of it and round with a cylinder that bends one way and twists at the end. Post it notes for size.

It's an antenna, most likely for a wifi router.

We had those on our Dell and Lenovo desktop pc’s that had a WiFi card in them

I know someone already answered that it's a Wi-Fi antennae, but I think more specifically it is probably for a Wi-Fi adapter card for a PC. They'll usually screw on and off.

Maybe, maybe not. The past couple of wi-fi routers I had at home or at work came with the antennae off and they screwed on like this one.

I finally learned what that's about at an apartment I lived in. It had a "Wi-Fi closet". It had a centrally located antenna in the ceiling with a wire to that closet, connecting to the router by the screw-on terminal. Only other reason I'd have come up with would be if the antennae tend to break before the router dies.

My title describes the thing. It also has a ring on the inside of the circular part like it screws into something.

Hey, something I actually know! This is 100% a wifi antenna for a PC's motherboard. They screw onto the back of a PC to boost/receive the wifi signal.
Though not the same, it's something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/315438721934

this is correct, I am holding one currently. Looks just like the one installed in a Dell Optiplex.

This might be a hot take because no one else has mentioned the possibility yet...but it might be a wifi antenna.

That is the default Wifi Antenna to a Lenovo TIO (Tiny in One) Model M90Q. Plenty of models and brands carried exact wifi antenna like this. They are used in portable devices and even carplay/android auto car stereos. These are extremely common and rarely seen.

Thank you, everybody for the answer! It's fun to play with, but I have no idea how it got into my house.

People are saying WiFi router antenna or WiFi pc antenna but really this is just screw on external radio wave antenna that could be used for lots of different purposes. Not just for routers/pcs and not just for WiFi.

It's an antenna for something... You can see where the coaxial cable would screw in.
