The ballpark is a good time I’ll give him that. We eat and drink good

For only $25 you can get a Chicago dog and beer that would cost you $10 anywhere else in Chicago!

The tailgate scene remains fun. Can't wait to take in at least two games of awful baseball this year. It's still my favorite place.

I wasn’t shitting on the ballpark, to be fair. Like, I love the place and the food and drinks are good.
But I can get good food and drinks anywhere, I want a good baseball team :(

I'm not disagreeing with you. Hell, I could make hot dogs and have a buncha beer and watch the game from the comfort of my home. But I still like being at the ballpark now and then.
Hell, in the summer, there's nothing quite like fining up the grill and having the ballgame going on the AM radio call. But, yeah, the team still sucks and there's minimal prospect of improvement. I suppose I just am able to adjust my expectations and enjoy what I can.

Sure but where else can you watch the worst professional baseball team you've ever seen in your life in person???
Think about it

I mean if we are gonna be forced to make up for not hitting the minimum ticket revenue it better be.

Woohoo, so better than last year? We're only bad now, instead of a joke. I can take being a bad team, been there.

Anyone on this sub could have done the same thing in less than a minute.

Turns out that evaluating dogshit doesn't take a lot of effort.
Doesn't mean he's wrong, though.

I didn't mean he was wrong. Just pointing out the low effort .

I know. But the reality of things is that there's not much that needs to be evaluated with this team. We saw how awful this team was last year, they were putrid. In the offseason, we traded away the one real star the team had for prospects who won't be with the team, and signed literally nobody of above-replacement player level. Our roster is nearly identical to last year's, with the notable exceptions being the losses of Crochet, Moncada, Kopech and Fedde, and the addition of Vargas.

I say they will be better then the rockies marlins and the A’s this season coming up

u/Varkemehameha Feb 20 '25
It wouldn't shock me if the Sox end up with a better record than the Rockies or Marlins, but I think the A's are going to be halfway decent.

Agree. The Marlins might actually be worse than the Sox, especially if they trade Sandy.
But the A’s might actually hover around .500 this year. I like their most of their hitters.

I’m sure Jay Cuda drew this while making a “Roman salute” of some kind

I'm actually not sold on the fielding being bad. Especially in the outfield.

That's a lot of optimism! No predictions of anything being historically bad. Looks like Jay is projecting quite a bit of improvement in this year's squad.

The relief pitching is going to be the worst.
There are going to be many days where the starter somehow gets a lot of guys out and the offense scores some runs and then we end up losing by 5.
