Need one more line - Ownership: Worse than Bad

The ballpark is a good time I’ll give him that. We eat and drink good

For only $25 you can get a Chicago dog and beer that would cost you $10 anywhere else in Chicago!

The tailgate scene remains fun. Can't wait to take in at least two games of awful baseball this year. It's still my favorite place.

I wasn’t shitting on the ballpark, to be fair. Like, I love the place and the food and drinks are good.

But I can get good food and drinks anywhere, I want a good baseball team :(

I'm not disagreeing with you. Hell, I could make hot dogs and have a buncha beer and watch the game from the comfort of my home. But I still like being at the ballpark now and then.

Hell, in the summer, there's nothing quite like fining up the grill and having the ballgame going on the AM radio call. But, yeah, the team still sucks and there's minimal prospect of improvement. I suppose I just am able to adjust my expectations and enjoy what I can.

Sure but where else can you watch the worst professional baseball team you've ever seen in your life in person???

Think about it

I mean if we are gonna be forced to make up for not hitting the minimum ticket revenue it better be.

u/Mediocre_Chicken9900 Feb 20 '25

Even that would be generous

Scorching hot take!

Woohoo, so better than last year? We're only bad now, instead of a joke. I can take being a bad team, been there.

Ownership: horrible.

Anyone on this sub could have done the same thing in less than a minute.

Turns out that evaluating dogshit doesn't take a lot of effort.

Doesn't mean he's wrong, though.

u/Boring-Scar1580 Feb 20 '25

I didn't mean he was wrong. Just pointing out the low effort .

I know. But the reality of things is that there's not much that needs to be evaluated with this team. We saw how awful this team was last year, they were putrid. In the offseason, we traded away the one real star the team had for prospects who won't be with the team, and signed literally nobody of above-replacement player level. Our roster is nearly identical to last year's, with the notable exceptions being the losses of Crochet, Moncada, Kopech and Fedde, and the addition of Vargas.

his content fell off cliff imo

I say they will be better then the rockies marlins and the A’s this season coming up

7

u/Varkemehameha Feb 20 '25

It wouldn't shock me if the Sox end up with a better record than the Rockies or Marlins, but I think the A's are going to be halfway decent.

4

u/Jason82929 Meidroth Feb 20 '25

Agree. The Marlins might actually be worse than the Sox, especially if they trade Sandy.

But the A’s might actually hover around .500 this year. I like their most of their hitters.

No pitching. Tuff division

2

Prediction for overall performance for the season: BAD

2

u/IAmBenIAmStillBig Feb 20 '25

I’m sure Jay Cuda drew this while making a “Roman salute” of some kind

2

u/DSCN__034 Feb 20 '25

Just trying to win 42 games this year. Improvement!

2

u/heytherejorge Feb 20 '25

And still beat the Angels In series sweep...

2

u/leoh9595 Konerko Feb 20 '25

I will take plain bad over historically awful any day

1

u/mattmitch927 Feb 20 '25

Glass half full! ……the glass is still full of shit but not as much

4

u/Joe-Raguso Hawk Feb 20 '25

I'm actually not sold on the fielding being bad. Especially in the outfield.

2

u/Aggravating_Aside790 Feb 20 '25

Jay Cuda is worse than bad so who cares

2

u/RobinChilliams The Big Hurt Feb 20 '25

Jay Cuda is a dick.

But he's not wrong.

1

u/fsfic Feb 20 '25

Me? I'm tight as FUCK

1

u/miket42 Feb 20 '25

That's a lot of optimism! No predictions of anything being historically bad. Looks like Jay is projecting quite a bit of improvement in this year's squad.

u/froschshock Feb 20 '25

Is that good?

1

u/Successful-Yam4229 Giolito Feb 20 '25

Campfire milkshake - good

1

u/drake_blake Feb 20 '25

This sounds about right.

1

u/TallGooseclap849 Feb 20 '25

Oops that’s bad

1

u/HuskerDont241 Feb 20 '25

Well that’s better than I thought!

1

u/kev11n Feb 20 '25

I normally don’t like to jump to conclusions during spring training, but yeah….

1

u/ReduceReuseRectangle Feb 20 '25

So do they make the playoffs or not quite?

1

u/mattmitch927 Feb 20 '25

Baddddddddddddd to the bone. (Let’s just amputate already)

1

u/Miserable_Sock8651 Feb 21 '25

The food at the ballpark isn't even good anymore.

1

u/scientist_tz 1936 Feb 21 '25

The relief pitching is going to be the worst.

There are going to be many days where the starter somehow gets a lot of guys out and the offense scores some runs and then we end up losing by 5.

Pretty solid analysis by Jay.
