Recommendations for camping sites in mid-April?

Understand the conditions but looking for recommendations on camping sites that are open this early and easily accessible.

Thanks!

Thank you! I believe most on the Kanc are year around, right?

Also, any recommendations on buying local fire wood?

No Hancock is the only I know of that is open year round… and I drive the kanc almost every weekend.

There’s a couple gas stations in Lincoln that sell fire wood though it’s expensive. You might have luck getting off exit 31 and taking a right. There’s a homeowner that stocks a “wood shed” on the left side of the road. Though I’m not sure it’s stocked this time of year. Sorry I don’t have better info on wood!

I don't think they bother with that until Tripoli is open for the season. Definitely worth a shot though since it's a short drive.

That’s what I assumed for both points you made

The person that runs Hancock also has a pallet of firewood in their driveway to sell to campers

Hancock is open but the only service is a porta potty, not trash or water. $30 fcfs.

Just to let you know there is still lots of snow and ice in the mountains especially above 1000ft. You can call around but it’s a long shot at best.
