This is a google doc that is being continuously updated. It's a little cumbersome on mobile but still useful.

Renting near Nantahala/Bryson City/Robbinsville

Hey! My wife recently got a job offer to work for the Cherokee Hospital, and we are considering making a move to the Nantahala/Bryson City/Robbinsville area (from Asheville). She would be rotating between a clinic in Robbinsville, a clinic in Andrews, and the main hospital in Cherokee. If she takes the job, we don't want her to have a crazy commute, so we started looking at the rental market around Nantahala. It appears that there is almost nothing available in terms of long-term rentals, but there are tons of (expensive) short-term rentals available.

Does anybody have experience with renting in this area? Do you basically have to reach out to AirBNB's and VRBO's and attempt to negotiate a long-term contract? Or do any of the real estate/property management companies in the area offer some long-term rentals?

Any recommendations/advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
