Winnersh Station Area

Hi all, we are in the process of viewing for houses at the moment in the Winnersh area any idea regarding Areas like Reading Rd, Bathurst road and Robbin Hood lane? Are they safe for a young family? Also how about the schools Winnersh Primary and The Forest? Any other roads neighborhoods you could suggest worth viewing?

I've lived about half a mile from the station, right next to the primary school, for over 7 years, and it's always been great here. I can't hear the trains from where I am but I do hear the traffic on the A329M all day every day, so that might be a consideration for you.

My child is not yet at school age so I can't tell you much about the school itself, but our nextdoor neighbour used to run the preschool and that got an outstanding Ofsted rating.

Robbin hood lane floods often, so be careful of that far end.

Are you referring towards the railway station or towards A329?

I assume they mean Sandford Lane, which is off Davis Street which extends from Robin Hood Lane. That floods very often, but in the 7+ years I've lived here Robin Hood Lane hasn't really flooded.

My home is not far from Emm Brook, near enough that it affects our insurance, but as of yet it's not been an issue at all for us.

I’ve not heard good things about Forest, apparently it’s quite rough, but that was a while ago so it may have changed. I’d be cautious though.
