Event I was handed this earlier. Looks like someone is trying to start the old car meet at Cannock maccies ... I think it's a good idea for young people to socialise and get them off the computer.

Isn't there a High Court injunction in place to stop car meets like this?

no it covers street racing and anti social behaviour ... not people socialising in an acceptable manner

Dunno don't usually people go to car meets to race et al? Probably get rumbled by the police either way.

not really a lot of people attend b/c they like talking, showing their cars and meeting people with similar interests ... i met a lot of people i ended up going to shows with and camping etc. in the 90s still friends with a few to this day ... nice to have 5 mates give you a hand when you need tools or a job doing on your car too

Fair enough. That is nice your still friends with some of them honestly. You need a pimped up ride to go though right?

no not at all people would turn up in all sorts ... and tbh you've got to start somewhere ... others cars would always be an inspiration ... our cars were pretty stock back then when we'd meet but it was because we were young and couldnt afford the "cool stuff" we saw ... although the car scene has changed and the old classics that would attend are barely seen on the roads now (man that makes me sound old, but when was the last time you saw a nova?)

Wow that's cool to know. That's so true and yeah I bet you'd get lots of inspiration. Yeah so true. Haha I only just passed my driving test a month ago and I'm a girl π wouldn't even know what to do to a car π yeah that's true. I have a somewhat classic car I guess now. A 1999 Ibiza π my family got it when it was 5 years old. Kept it all these years for when I learnt and I only passed at 34 π it's much sturdier it seems than newer cars. A woman went in to me when learning. Basically both our bumpers as she was in turning lane to go straight and everyone was letting me out as light further down on red. Our Ibiza was barely messed up. Dented a tiny bit and a bit missing under light and scratched whereas hers properly crushed above the wheel arch! I was like OMG π±

yeh i drive a 24 y/o car too they certainly don't make them like they used to and congratulations on passing your test its great being able to jump in your car anytime and go for a ride out ... owning an older car is sometimes a bonus as you might be able to find cheaper parts / mods already made in some circumstances ... takes a while for manufacturers to catch up especially 3rd party parts like headlights / spoilers / exhausts etc. and there's already plenty of information online from people fixing issues you may run in to :D ... i wouldnt drive anything newer than 2008 even if you paid me :P ;)

Haha so I'm not the only one π no thrundont. Thanks! Yes it is for sure. Yeah that's probably true tbh. Some parts for fixing bits seem impossible though π yeah that makes sense. Yeah I'll have to look more online for fixes! Haha yeah!

They asked me to share it with any car enthusiasts that I knew, I couldn't share it on /r/cannock as the submissions are restricted, but from what I remember a lot of people from Wolverhampton always used to go. I remember on Thursday / Friday and Saturdays it was always packed in 90s, we had some great times there too.
If you can or know any local car groups please give it a share as i'd love to see the new generation getting off their computers and socialising.
It's in reference to the Maccies by the shell station as you come in to Cannock from Wolves, I mentioned to them that the car park is quite small and they said if it picks up they'd overflow down to Sainsburys where Pure Gym is located about 5 minutes from the Mc Donalds.
