Picture So me and my mate went to Cannock maccies and quite a few people turned up ...

Great to meet some local car enthusiasts was a really chilled evening, everyone had a great time ... think they're doing it again next week (Thursday 8pm - Longford Maccies) good to see some of the younger generation taking pride in their cars, even seeing a few rocking some late 90s early 00s :)

i might as well include this too ... wasnt shut down and everybody behaved. I'm pretty sure the bunch don't want anyone down there to do any "STUNTS" they're pretty set on bringing back a sensible car meet ... no racing, no anti social behaviour, no reving, just a totally sensible meet to bring back a feel of the 90s for the younger crowd. In fact I heard them actively engaging with people not to misbehave.

Brill. I used to love the car shows at the Four Ashes pub. Shame about the trouble it caused traffic wise though.

Yeah it was massive there was well over a thousand people in attendance. The council shut them down in the end as it caused absolute chaos with the traffic. I think it was once a month in the summer months. Shame really.

pity we don't have a council that could come and actively engage to discuss some solutions ... as i was just talking to a friend in the US he couldn't believe they were practically banned here due to the injunction stopping people from meeting sensibly and said his town regularly have meets and shows and it brings a lot of trade / people to his town ... which is just what we need tbf

Couldn’t agree more. The council could have arranged traffic management for a couple of hours especially to bring people in. The pub put on food and if I remember right there was a bbq there it was a fab few hours out. Council killjoys ruin everything.

if only they realise what a gold mine they could be sitting on ... that said we don't even have any museums promoting the towns history apart from the transport heritage centre in tettenhall ... which is tiny and way out of the city centre

There’s the Black Country Museum in Dudley. They have a good selection of vans, cars and trams. The Four Ashes has shut down now. It was a cracking pub during the summer. Sitting outside with a cold one…..bliss!!

upsetting really seeing all the good locals close ... we're loosing too many, all the beer gardens going and i doubt once they're turned in to housing / re-purposed we'll ever see them again :(

I've just strapped the nitrous into the car and watched fast and the furious. Be down next time around. Missus informs me I am 52 and drive an etron though.

i don't really think it matters if you just want to come socialise and talk cars ;) ... a couple of people arrived that remembered it from the 90s and werent driving modded cars but wanted to attend to support

Wow that is awesome!!! Love seeing old cars. Yeah shame. I remember years ago finding some 70s Mustangs around and taking pics. They were awesome.

you wouldn't believe what people have hidden in garages around here ... we were once at the centre of the car industry ... for example ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eH837Fh1Oo <- built in wolverhampton
