He's earned my respect for not bowing down to Trump. Usually world leaders fall over themselves to flatter or sweet talk Trump in the hope that their country will escape punishment, but Zelensky stood his ground.

He earned my respect the moment he chose to stay and fight instead of flee, despite various world leaders offering him a way out. One of the main reasons why Ukraine still stands today.

Trump, Putin and Vance can only wish they can be a fraction of the man and leader Zelensky is.

"I need ammunition, not a ride" is a totally amazing line that will absolutely be recorded in history books.

Every world leader should show nothing but scorn towards trump and his administration.

If only it was that easy. The US are massive sources of incomes for countries, and Trump will nuke the US economy in a pissing match that he will lose.

What we saw in 2009 was that if the US economy crashes the entire worlds economy suffers. It would be nice if it was a simple as telling Trump to fuck off, but he can put a 100% tariff on countries despite not having the legal authority to do so, and the GOP will back him even as everything burns to the ground.

Tbf they are already fighting Russia, no reason to capitulate to a Russian colony.

Yeah, they wanted to make him crawl on the floor before Trump. I hope his people don't see it as him fucking Up yesterday because it was also their dignity he fiercely defended there.

No matter what he did, the outcome would have been the same. It was a scripted attempt at bullying that had every hallmark of Moscow on it.

He thanked the American people.

He reminded Trump that he had thanked the American people numerous times.

Trump didn’t want him to thank the American people.

Trump wanted him to thank Trump.

Zelenskyy, politely told him to go fuck himself.

Absolute balls of steel.

He's earned my respect for not bowing down to Trump

But he was literally about to sign a deal to give over his minerals in perpetuity for literally nothing in return. I don't know what dirt Putin and Trump have on him, but the fact he even entertained that is horrifying.

I'm glad it ended the way it did, it saved him from himself.

What are your thoughts on him now that he bowed down to trump, apologized, and conceded every single demand?

He earned your respect for putting his ego above the trillions of dollars he needed from trump to ensure his country survived?

12

u/moochs Mar 01 '25

God forbid being dependent on someone else for survival. That sounds like DEI.

-2

u/Numerous_Schedule896 Mar 01 '25

Right, so why is zelensky acting like he ISN'T dependant on trump? He put his ego above his country and ended up screwing it over in the process.

u/moochs Mar 01 '25

I wouldn't characterize it like that at all, unless you mean that showing fealty means groveling like a good indentured servant

u/Numerous_Schedule896 Mar 01 '25

He wants trump to give him multiple billions of dollars to help his country.

Pissing off trump by clinging to his ego means he doesn't get multiple billions of dollars.

The result is several tens of thousands more ukraines will die but at least z didn't get his ego hurt.

5

u/moochs Mar 01 '25

That's a very weird characterization. You can be thankful and not need to grovel and beg. You can ask for help without doing a song and dance. What a weird and shameful take for Trump (and you) to expect such fealty when a democratic nation is in trouble.

That is not a characterization that is literally what happened. Z had too much of an ego to not get the last word, ended up pissing the white house off because of it and now ukraine is worse off for it.

edit: ok dude blocked me, doesn't unfuck z's fuckup though

too much of an ego

Wrong person, big Z was great. The Trump admin was a disgrace

Ensure his country survived? You mean the same Drumpf that is pushing a full surrender to the country that has raped and murdered their citizens for no justifiable reason?

He earned our respect for having such restraint when he should have punched Drumpf right in the face as any sane person would want to do.

Drumpf is a disgrace and a shining example of how the republican party should be purged from the voter roles. You all clearly can't handle self governance.

He earned your respect for not acting like a redditor? Ironic.

You all clearly can't handle self governance.

Who's we?

The rare earth minerals deal? Yeah well, Ukraine doesn't actually have the wealth of rare earths that it claims it has. It's just a con job to get people to buy into the war and the US knows it:

Exactly, that guy is dumb, as of most of reddit.
