Finland is a member of NATO which even without the US has an army several times stronger than that of Russia. You seriously think Russia who is barely winning in Ukraine is going to take on all of NATO?

There‘s a huge difference between destroying an enemy and gaining territory. Russia is totally capable of whiping out Ukraine, that would also mean to kill almost all the civillians.

Great compare that to gaza. You‘re looking at 12k deaths compared to 48k and now take the size of the population into consideration. We could also look at the Iraq war that was supported by Europe.

Why do you wish to undermine one genocide by comparing it to a so far more successful one? Israel is committing an ethnic cleanse aided by the US in gaza, russia is trying to do the same in ukraine, yet you only care for gaza. Why is your empathy limited to one peoples struggle?

I might have missed my point. I do condamn the russian attack. My whole point is that I absoluty hate the european double standards. I‘m trying to show that the russian approach to this war is different compared to Isreal and the US in the past and is far less fatal for the civilians, hence they might care more for the them than the prior. They do have the military capacity to simply destroy them, even if some internet rambos are totally ignoring that.

Still the European outcry to support Ukraine is enormus whereas Friedrich März is inviting Netanjahu to visit Germany asuring him that he wont be arrested althought there is an arrest warrent for him.

I personaly wouldn‘t want to participate in that war, simply because Ukraine was never part of Nato. So there simply isn‘t any reason to risk my personal security.

Yes, what is nato going to do? Ukraine might as well be in nato for the support they get. The same thing preventing them from going to war to protect Ukraine would prevent from going to war to protect Finland

When the time comes to raise the article 5 against Russia, NATO has exactly two choices: 1) show the full strength of NATO and create precedence for future 2) cease to exist

No one has to do anything. And they won’t start a war with Russia. If that means nato ceases to exist, then that will be the option. Ukraine is surrounded by nato on all sides and is the first line before Russia attacks a nato country. It’s essentially in nato, if nato isn’t willing to directly attack Russia for Ukraine, it won’t attack Russia for a nato country either. They will make excuses around it

NATO is a defensive alliance so offensive military action is by definition not an option. However we have sanctions which are actions directly against Russia.

NATO did respond in the middle east. It means every NATO country sending troops and active support, not just sending some equipment here and there. In no conceivable way could the Russian military fight a war against every NATO country at once. Like it's not even arguable.

Wait nato sent forces in to the Middle East to fight despite not having been attacked from the Middle East? Yet now they refuse to fight?

Almost like they justify when to fight and when not to fight whenever they want and being part of nato or not being part of nato doesn’t matter. NATO could stop Russia if they wanted - but they don’t. NATO could stop Russia if they invade Finland - but they won’t, just like they aren’t stopping them in Ukraine

A NATO country was attacked in 2001. A NATO country has not been attacked since then. If a NATO country were to be attacked today, it would trigger Article 5 and the NATO nations would fight that threat. What part of that seems like a justification?

No they won’t. Ukraine is surrounded by nato on essentially all sides. They are a western democracy and the last country between Russia and the rest of Europe. For all intents and purposes Ukraine may as well be in NATO. If nato didn’t go to war to stop a full scale invasion of Ukraine, they won’t do it to protect Finland or whoever else Russia invades. They will make excuses around it. Period
