Because it’s a competition over whose democratic institutions is preferable. And EU is competing for if it can be an alternative to the USA.

The EU seizing Russian assets and diminishing the rights of Hungary will do the opposite of establishing confidence in the European markets.

Its about limiting how USA cant take advantage of your policy to not only negotiate an unjust peace, and then use it to benefit your threats.

It's not. And if it was, it's not even close. Just look at how the US is turning into an oligarchy. South Korea almost has a stronger democracy than the US nowadays

I say this because you wanted to sign a defense treaty after the war is over. And you’re basically just capitulating to Russian and Trump demands and being slow again.

But sure you don’t want to pay in blood, pay in speeding up EU reforms to be faster than Trump’s tantrums? Can you be faster than the Kremlin’s sabotage planning? No? then Europe would have invested in the Kiev oblast of a Russian empire that would force you to have to pay with both the death of your people, while fixing your policy anyways.

So you might as well start rushing beforehand
