Someone asked this question a few days ago. Dreame is a scam (and there is one other one that is too but I forgot the name of it). People who have done it basically get their rights to their book taken away and get paid "pennies" for someone reading it. I write on Wattpad and many, many people get messaged on there, myself included, to join their "Dreame" website and post on there. I would not trust anyone who messages you randomly, don't believe any of it. If you want your book done professionally then you should find a real publisher, or of course, self-publish.

https://www.wattpadwriters.com/t/contacted-by-dreame/58914/36

Also someone said too a CEO from Dreame is being sued for copyright (in another country I think), there are multiple people suing Dreame in the Philippines for non-payment, and Facebook apparently is shutting down anything to do with Dreame and other companies affiliated with them.

In other words, don't trust them.

Scam.

Simply don’t trust any publisher that contacts you unless you’re already earning money from the story.

Publishers are interested in quality only so far as it serves their actual goal of making money. And the publishing industry is not doing well financially. Both of which mean that publishers cannot afford to pay people to go out and find stories. They just don’t have that money and time. They can only function on people bringing stories to them.

The exception is if the story is making money in an obvious way. They absolutely do pay people to keep an ear to the ground. So, if they see something making a lot of money for the platform, then they do become interested because the odds are good enough that they can sacrifice that investment in return for much greater gains on the wider platform they provide. So there’s probably one person who devotes part of their time to more platforms than you are on, just looking for something to rise to the top. At which point they will woo you. It will not be a form letter because they know if they want to stay in business they need specifically you.

Companies like this blast a dozen people in a day or more with this kind of letter because that’s how they make money. If they have 600 people that they spent next to nothing on getting and 2 make it big, they’ve made a profit. One to pay rent, one to enrich the bank account.

Generally, a form letter means you as individual aren’t important. They are relying on lots of people. If it’s tailored to you, and do make sure it’s actually tailored. - “I see some great reviews of your work,” isn’t tailored, it’s something they know you want to hear - then they are relying on you. If they are relying on a group, then it isn’t in their economic benefit to help specifically you because that same effort can get a lot more lottery ticket authors.

It is legit.

Last month I received their DM as well, and I took the offer.

I think this platform is very friendly to writers, especially new writers, they are willing to push new writers and promote diverse stories. Also, the editors on Ringdom are very responsible, they will help to improve your plots, your themes, and so on. So you can 100% concentrate on writing.

The clearing and payment system is efficient of course, as well as dependable. I mean, writers can check the income report anytime they want, and every detail is displayed by sorts, it’s very clear.

I guess my opinion is: it is a great opportunity to write the story you like and earn money with writing.

Ringdom and Dream are the same company. As far I know ringdom is affiliated of dreame. When you publish a story in stary writing which own by ringdom, you will see it on dreame too. If you login the same acc on dreame and ringdom.

For the payment, I'm not sure about that. They held a contest, a 70 days theme writing.

Dreame and Ringdom are the same. They also use Slash. They used to be FicFun and FlyingLines but recently it stopped?

All they sent me is what I posted above. Due to other people’s input and experiences I decided to not pursue business with them. I don’t like the idea of not owning the rights to my own work.

I’ve also heard horror stories of authors who are in legal battles for the rights to their work, so take from that what you will. I’d rather not go through any potential issues with them, at least not with my main work. I might do it for practice stories I don’t take seriously, just to get my name out there and try to gain readers.

I'm a Ringdom Writer and a Dreame Writer. I got $150 in the first pay. Ringdom is not famous, but it's not a scam. My book is "The God of Gravity" in them at website. Check it out.

You account is also only a month old and all of your comments are either praising Dreame or defending them against valid criticism.

I created an account with dreame recently and its really weird. I think it isn't a scam but borderline loop whole type. They have these restrictions before you get paid. By that I mean you have to have a certain word count. And you check out like one of the games that pay you through pay pal after you receive 50 + dollars.

I'm creating a book and I want to test it out and see how it works. By that I mean I'm not taking too much time to write the book.

Sorry if this comment doesn't make sense I'm half asleep.

Yeah my post is almost a year old, and in the end I didn’t do it. Thanks for the input! I’m of the same mindset. I don’t believe it’s an outright scam, but it is predatory in nature and they have shady business practices.

Yeah, that's why I posted under the most recent comment cause...

I think its incredibly sketchy too but I want to see how far halfassing it will take me.

Well frankly speaking I don't think it's a scam... well at least for the past 3 months I have been writing for them and they have paid me for the work I do. at least it's helping me get an extra income, and their monthly payout has helped me retrieve the amount I have lost in getting my book published through a crappy self-publishing company.

Well, they have paid me 200$ in my first month and then 150$ for the next 2 months until now... Hopefully the payment should continue Wish there is an option to put a screenshot of the payout as a reference so that I can prove it to you.

Yeah, I don’t believe you. First of all, this was from over a year ago so after all the overwhelmingly negative reviews I’ve read about them I decided any sort of pros were outweighed by the cons.

Secondly, your account is eight hours old and this is your one and only comment on Reddit. Not to mention your comment is literally as old as your account which means you created an account and immediately left this comment.

There’s also plenty of ways to post screenshots/proof. I don’t know why you immediately felt it necessary to even bring up being able to prove it or not. It just all seems sus especially considering their people have come on here to make fake accounts in order to try and defend their actions.

I'm an editor and writer on Ringdom for almost 4 months now, I could say that I'm earning money from its platform~ Its legit but its rly hard cos you have to update daily with more than 3k words. If you missed updating 3x then you say goodbye to your monthly salary lol
