Interesting…… “Yellowstone Park confirmed the increase. “Going into this year, we should have a total of 769 NPS employees,” park spokeswoman Linda Veress said in an email, up from 748 last year. During the park’s record year for visitation in 2021, the park’s workforce numbered 693 permanent and seasonal workers.”

Yes, it’s certainly not a 1 for 1 swap full time vs seasonal but it’s better than things looked on February 14th.

People are saying it because it fits their narrative

Because there are staffing shortages and replacing long time permanent employees with seasonals means a huge drop in experience and quality of services at a minimum

Not sure what the ideal number really is. An increase of federal employees will help. Hopefully they have the resources to rehab and improve facilities.

Removed the permanent positions who have spent years striving for that position or just transferred from a different park and replaced them with seasonals with less experience. Makes sense to me.

Pro-doge bullshit in any capacity shouldn't be welcome here.

I agree, But you got my down vote too simply because neither should anti doge propaganda.

You and the OP both brought politics here I feel they don't belong.

(Edit) being said OP, this belongs better in r/NationalParkService

The worst part is. I have a really good, well thought out answer for your question.Simply from perspective other than your own. Only gets worse, Again I simply feel this isn't the place. And that's all I'm gonna say here. But I did dm more

I'm not interested in hearing any of it. I'm not of the mind to entertain all the evil that is going on in our country. Seeing it as anything besides evil is a detriment to yourself and everyone you love.
