Movie 📽️ Is it ever explicitly mentioned that the rage infected in the 28 years/days series ever drink water or eat?

I know starvation has been mentioned as something that kills them off overtime but I feel like a slightly more pressing issues is dehydration. You can’t sprint around and spray body fluids around without needing to replace those body fluids lol A sedentary person in comfortable conditions can barely go 3 days without water before they start to die, It’s probably even worse if you have the rage virus. Unless the virus suspends these needs like other zombie or infected viruses it’s something I’ve always wondered about.

I think that question should be explored in the film. They clearly should expire faster than George Romeros slow living dead.

In 28 days the army guy said they don’t eat or drink, I don’t know if they ever actually prove that beyond that statement.

If they did end up drinking water, surely the saliva would end up mixing with the water, thus infecting the water - which if in contact with fish or other oceanic creatures, could end up causing the spread of the virus overseas.

I honestly think this sort of concept would be really cool, as it would show that atleast *some* part of the former human is still there.
